BrikWars in its current state would never have been possible without
the generous help and support of dozens of fans, well-wishers,
and unwitting 'contributors.' Here's a few of the big ones.

BrikWars
Fans:
The New England LEGO® User's Group |
 |
|
The New England LEGO® User's Group is the oldest, craziest,
and most rabid of all the big BrikWars-playing clubs.
They are also the biggest pains in the butt when it comes to
"helpful suggestions" for rulebook improvements.
But we can't say they haven't earned the right.
NELUG is largely based in and around the Massachusetts area
but have been known to forage up and down the Atlantic coast
in search of game. Pictures from many of NELUG's games
can be found on their web site
- look for the BrikWars links in the left-hand column.

Eric
vs. Shaun, The Guns of Brickston
- February 5, 2000
The very first BrikWars battle
ever to make it onto a web page was a fight between
Eric Joslin and Shaun Sullivan on the living room carpet.
This bitterly-fought quarrel opened the way for a series
of NELUG BrikWars events, as well as for years of persistent
rumors of an illicit passion burgeoning between Shaun,
Eric, and an unusually suggestive model train car.

of urinary emergency that Shaun's minifigs would soon
become known for.

NELUG's
First Battle
- April Fool's Day, 2000
The first official NELUG
game fell, appropriately enough, on April Fool's day.
image: another
Pilot abandons his vehicle in haste, this time because
a Ninja has tossed a grenade into his half-track.
Next time he'll know better than to leave the top hatch
open!

Attack
of the Gonks
- April 30th, 2000
Within a month NELUG was
at it again. This battle featured the suicidal
Gonk Bombs, a testament to the frustration and rage
felt by Shaun during the many years before he was able
to prove that the word 'Gonk' had been his own invention.

BrikWars
1942! - July
26th, 2000
Eric and Shaun reunite for
another 'private' BrikWars party, this time an unremitting
indulgence of Shaun's Nazi fantasies. But once
again, despite the Nazis' intial advantages of superior
position, equipment, and investiture, the Allies manage
to carry the day.

The
Village of Flying Sheep
- November 18, 2000
Knights, ninjas, wizards,
and giants gathered together to make a complete mess
of Dave Eaton's medieval village. Despite the
giants' French epithets and the wildly unbalanced wizards,
the sheep were ones who stole the show.

sheep sneaks up behind unsuspecting troops while two
of his friends attempt to hide themselves in the foliage.

The
Great Tile Hunt
- February 3rd, 2001
Nothing gets a warriors'
blood pumping like shiny tile booty, and the possibility
of more shiny tiles hidden nearby. Rumors of secret
tile supplies in this small town led to a military Tile
Rush.

of bulky BattleMeks prepare to kill for god, country,

The
St. Patrick's Day Massacre
- March 17th, 2001
Some people pinch you if
you're not wearing green on St. Patrick's day.
Others take the holiday more seriously and nuke your
cities.

Medieval
Hostage Crisis
- June 30, 2001
Nefarious forestmen have
made off with the princess and left nothing more than
an illegibly retarded note. Medieval combat ensues.
But meanwhile, what's with that statue in the middle
of the battlefield, standing in the giant flagstone
urinal?

bodily wastes over the course of the battle.

WWII
Train Assault
- January 18th, 2002
The Allies attempt another
surprise attack after their wild success (one survivor)
in July of 2000, but this time the Nazis are ready for
them.

of finely-modelled war machines vie for attention.

War
of the Briks
Wayne McCaul, despite being
the victim of a NELUG conspiracy to always schedule
games on precisely those days on which he can't attend,
still maintains association with the group and has managed
to do a surprising amount of BrikWars work independently.
His War of the Briks site has pictures from several
battles, the details of his battle clans, pages of clever
BrikWars house rules, the Soviets-vs.-Americans Red
Moon scenario, and the inimitable Mister Joe-Joe.

Coalition
Research Vessel 0.937 -
July 15th, 2002
The Factions challenge Coalition
authority in a race to track down a high-tech Ugly Hat
and some porn, in a derelict research vessel in which
the development of a new biological superweapon has
gone horribly, hilariously wrong.
image: a deadly
alien gets the drop on an unsuspecting Coalition troop,
who, unsurprisingly, smells so disgusting that the alien
decides to take its insatiable appetite elsewhere.

Quest
for the Alien, Part II
- August 11th, 2002
Coalition and Faction troops
return to the derelect research vessel in an attempt
to track down and capture the deadly alien lifeforms
hidden therein. Sadly, they were no match for
the wily bartender droid and his hypnotically irresistable
beer.

The
Nameless Horror
- Halloween 2002
No
survivors retained enough of their sanity to tell the
tale of what happened on this terrifying night, but
the pictures that emerged show Cthuloid demons straight
out of H.P. Lovecraft's darkest nightmares mangling
their way through ranks of innocent townspeople.

The collective sanity of the townspeople is put under

several of them into bite-sized peopleburgers.

The
Adventures of T.E.A.M.
- January 18th, 2003
This
massive game was so super-secret that no one involved
will reveal any of the events that took place.
Fortunately, pictures of the supervillains involved
have been carelessly leaked.

The
Sword of Agot
- April 27th, 2003
Mythic
armies, cunning wizards, horrifying monsters, and Trogdor
all vied for control of the ancient and powerful Sword
of Agot. In a surprise reversal, Trogdor was quickly
burninated.

It
Takes A Pillage
- February 10th, 2004
In
the first of two games staged at JumpGate Game Day,
Shaun inflicted cruel misfortune on this medieval village.
Marauding armies converge on the peaceful hamlet in
hopes of finding a hidden superweapon. In a surprise
twist, the exhausted combatants discovered that the
superweapon could only be controlled by units carrying
fried chicken.

Sanford
& Son andThe Tox Uthat
- February 10th, 2004
To
appease the spacers at JumpGate Day, Wayne staged his
battle on a derelict spacecraft far in the future, with
cameos from the stars of many NELUG sci-fi battles in
years past.

Bubble
Gum Crisis -
May 14th, 2004
Following
Nelug's Bubble Gum Crisis battle, Team Villain's notorious
leader Evil Mastermind (rumored to be none other than
Joe Comeau) has sent out a memo describing the results
of the Drastic Urban Meltdown 2003 initiative.
The announcement includes illustrated narration from
the front line.
