Thats pretty freakin cool. I wanted to have a rule book printed up but it would have cost me a fortune. The version I got cost me nothing and is quite nice. Will have to photograph it sometime. Probably during the battles this weekend.

Yeah, I think that's the one Elroy (I think) printed up for Nelug using Wayne's PDF layout. Good stuff.

I swear I'm still working on an official version; I'm just slow. If you were sitting behind me on the plane today you could have looked over my shoulder and seen my progress on Chapter 9.

I would totally buy a hard cover version if the price was right. I know a few memebers of my LUG that would as well. I am would probably be good for 4-6 copies.

There may also problems with using Lego IP and images (maybe even our photo's) or using other brands alongside Lego like Brikarms for a project like this.

He doesn't have to make a profit. He is allowed to charge cost of production though.

I asked the guy about it and this is what he said

I made it last year. I printed out the 2001 rules, created the cover in Photoshop, then hand-bound it. I was going for the look of the old TSR AD&D books.

I would buy one for £15-20, I would also beg my school library to get one for my new club if it takes off. also I'm sure you could get legal permission form LEGO.

LEGO, though it might be a shame, is a pacifist toy company. they would never allow to be even remotely affiliated with something as destructive as brikwars, which includes allowing the use of their trademarks such as minifigs.

besides, if there was even the slightest possibility, I believe Lord Rayhawk has probably already tried it, and as there are no brikwars rulebooks for sale, it didnt work

I would say originally LEGO was a pacifist toy company. And at heart they may still be. However, war sells and everyone is buying. I do agree though. Getting LEGO's permission is probably not gonna happen. However I though copy right laws only protected from someone making a profit off of someone elses property. If there is no profit then I don't see how there is copy right infrinement. Of course I am probably wrong.
