Okay, let's give this a shot. All ability scores are unmodded (racially-wise) and might be subject to change.

Name: Dessh

Description of character- Eager to learn, and quick to trust, he still uses his gut and not his brain to determine friend and foe. Well-versed in the use of a lightsaber, but still mastering the force. He is a quick thinker and can adapt quite quickly to certain situations, but prefers working in a group.
Backstory:Being slightly shorter in stature than most other trandoshans, Dessh got bullied earlier in life. that changed, of course, when he learned he had power over the force. whisked away to Coruscant, he quickly became one of the top students. fueled by his need to be the best, he was apprenticed a year early, and was carted off to help on the home front, with a rather old Jedi who did not really have a taste for war anymore. Regardless, Dessh managed to put away his desire to prove himself, and learned much wisdom from his master (though his scores might not show it

). soon thereafter, he and his master were called upon to go to war, as the list of available Jedi dwindled. Master Udnapishtu (Dessh's master) has stayed back, and has sent Dessh to Coruscant for new assignment.
Apperance: 5'10'', yellowish-greenish mottled skin (wonderful for camouflage). Wearing the traditional Jedi robes, but covered by a slightly darker traveling cloak, for disguise.

Also, Robo: I believe this was supposed to be a light-side campaign...

You guys who have the core book- Go wild. If you know how to make a droid character and play it, Knolli, do it.

And yes, I did say I wrote that entire block of text on an iPod, Oloth. Tech Specialist is from an older edition, we're using Saga. The expansions are out as well, since I don't have them. Sorry.

Find a plothook in your story. This ship is a regularly chartered flight from Republic Mid Rim space to Coruscant. Perhaps you're out to seek your luck on the largest city in known space, perhaps you've been hired as security by the ship's captain, perhaps you're a trader on your way to a meet-up elsewhere- as long as you're on board.

RM, this is a good-based campaign, although that character will work. He may just not get along with the rest of the party... and we're not going to kill Mandalorians. We're going to Coruscant.

Scotts... keep in mind that we are level one... with the beginning of your character's story. He's not going to be all that's cracked up to be. Want to make him as he starts out?

Ender, that will work fine. Welcome aboard.

I'll send all of you the next step. Oloth, you're free to do whatever you want with character creation- if you want to play a Sullustian Tech Specialist, go ahead, just fill me in on your skills and talents. Knolli, I'm going to cut off submissions when you finish yours.

I'm going to try to do turns nightly. If you can't make a short post every day or so, your character may end up being forgotten. If I let a week go inbetween turns, I'll get distracted and forget about it, it'll languish and disappear, and we will get absolutely nowhere.

Let me put it this way. He used to be a badass. He is now basically held together with chewing gum and spit. If the back story is such a huge problem, I can change it, but I would prefer not too if I don't have too.

Actually it was meant to be a joke although the idea is tempting.
But I have none of the books and only played D&D twice, so I may need a little help with the rules now and then. And playing a Droid may proof too challenging right now. If you are ok with it, I'd switch to a Twi'lek Scoundrel:

Description of character: To think that her good looks are all there is to Gal is a mistake you will regret. Good looks and a sharp mind are Gal Atey's most dangerous weapons. That's why she may seem cold hearted and proud to strangers. But if neccessary she can meme the submissive slave as well. She is determined to travel the worlds and enjoy her freedom. Her knowledge of the back alleys of society has proven most usefull so far.

Backstory: Gal was born as the daughter of a slave and bar dancer in the slums of a minor city. She spent her youth in the worst company and had to grow up fast in order to survive. From her mother she learned of the subtile weapons of the woman, while her "friends" and her owner taught her about the power of money. One day a brutal costumer "accidentally" killed her mother. So the young Gal took her revenge. She stole credits and sensitive data from the local mafia and left some fake traces behind and thus shifted the blame on her mother's murderer. When he was executed for a crime he didn't commit, she took his possessions as well before she boarded the next freighter to freedom.

Apperance: Gal's young slim body is of a greenish hue. She likes to dress in tight clothes like most females of her species do.

@Scottsman: Trandosian have powerfull regenerative abilities. Severed limbs regrow after some time so attaching a bionic prostetic would be meaningless.

Sounds good (I was unaware that Saga was a different edition than what I had, but alright).

I'll post my character after classes this afternoon. Hell, I may just take the Core Rulebook with me and fill him in there.

Yeah, ross mentioned. I now need to decide whether or not to ditch the prosthetic or say that I was royally fucked up.

Actually- there's a precedent for that in the Expanded Universe. Old Trandoshans that aren't in their prime of youth can't regrow limbs effectively. You're actually fine, roll with it- you'll be able to be damaged by Ion based attacks though, so watch yourself.

Description: Gozrac is not incredibly sociable or combat-capable, but what he lacks in these areas he makes up for in pure mental prowess, particularly in the field of computer engineering and programming. He has a slight figure, unarmored but for a small utility vest. His belt is lined with various tools and etc, and his backpack is near-stuffed with odds and ends. He does his best to be personable, particularly when speaking to potential clients and/or employers. To all else, he may occasionally seem excessively brash, boastful, and brooding.

Backstory:
Gozrac hails from one of the many Zabrak colonies scattered around the galaxy. At a young age, he found he had a knack for the science of computers and their inner workings. Within several years he was ushered into Tech School, where he earned high rankings as a Software Engineer. After a while with a steady job, he decided he'd strike out on his own and see where life took him. He was bored and unchallenged by his life thus far, and wanted an excuse to test his skills.

So, we find our young Gozrac plotting safe hyperspace courses and dealing general repairs for a freight vessel in return for free passage to Coruscant and a small wage.

This is really odd.

When I search "Saga Edition Star Wars RPG," I get a picture of the rulebook that I currently own and used to make that character, and yet Ross is telling me that half of my skills don't exist in Saga edition, and "Tech Specialist" is from an old book?

Yikes.
