All things considered, I'd say that turned out well.

11 is better than 30. Maybe we should focus attacks on them and bolt.

Push through them, get them all on one side, then drop another firebomb.

I'll help push through, but we should really avoid slicing any more open if we can. I can handle losing a few hitpoints, but I can't lose any more turns or we're gonna get boned.

Arrows will release less of that smell than slashes, that's my alternative.

I'm not sure, but we can assume slashing releases a lot of smell from the creature's body because it opens alot of it up.

Now an arrow should just penetrate the creature and leave a small entry wound. I hypothesize that this will only release a small amount of gas.

I have a dagger and a short sword. We're in the thick of it, so I don't have enough time to make an improvised weapon of my rope.
Fisticuffs it is, then.
Let's make a push for the 11 and get as many of them with the 30, as Gerald suggests. Bottleneck their approach and stand to with knuckles and bludgeons. If we need to, we bolt.

Saucix releases an arrow at the fat beasts coming from behind.

Rolled Ranged 20+2 vs. AC, rolled damage 3+1

The arrow hits the creature right in the eye and continues through the back of its head, striking another beast behind it. (3+1 damage) Both of them fall over dead. There is a waft of stench from them, but not strong enough to cause a reaction in you.

Gerald takes point as you go back down the tunnel, and he starts pushing through the beasts with his shield.

Rolled Melee 8+2 vs. Fort

Though short, the creatures are broad and heavy. And many. They refuse to budge.

Gregor aims a punch at a beast trying to get at Gerald's flank.

Rolled Melee 16-2 vs. AC, rolled damage 3-2

He hits the creature in the face, and it staggers backwards.

Adarim carries the unconscious Nisos, I assume.

Two beasts claw at Gerald's armor with their long fingers. One of them manages to find the opening behind his knee. With a lucky scratch, Gerald becomes unbalanced and falls over. 2 damage

Draw another arrow and fire it at the beasts approaching Gerald.

"Get up you fool."

Adarim
Fashion a dust mask of some sort for good measure. Kick them out of the way, rather than slashing them.

^It's a little late for that^

"Fool? I'm the one keeping these beasts at bay. Now help me up and keep us moving!"

Seriously, don't bother shooting them. push through until we have them all on one side instead of flanking and then we can start dealing with them. Right now we're kinda boned.

(Maybe communicate with my character what you want him to do. I don't think the bat beasts speak English.)

Adarim tears a piece of cloth off his sleeve and wraps it over his nose and mouth, getting some protection from the horrifying stench (+3 Fort against these attacks), and aims a kick at one of the beasts.

Rolled Melee 8+1 vs. AC

He can't a good hit in past the flailing Gerald.

Saucix fires another arrow.

Rolled Ranged 15+2 vs. AC, rolled damage 3+1

Another creature goes down, and another blast of stench is released. Saucix and Adarim endure it, but Logan screams, Gerald gasps for air and Gregor has to stop and lean against the wall. 1 damage

Gerald gets back to his feet and once more tries to push the critters back.

Rolled Melee 19+2 vs. Fort

This time it's more effective. The beasts tumble into each other and Gerald opens a path past them. It will probably only last a moment though.
