Saucix eats with his fellow brothers and sisters in the monastery's great hall. The room is livelier than usual; everyone is discussing what the fang-readers saw yesterday. The Rooster, signifying great and possibly violent events; upside down, signifying chaos. The Eastern Wind, signifying change or things not seen before.

As Saucix sits down to eat, the room quietens. Mother Salvegard stands on the podium, adressing the room.

"My children, I know you worry over what Päkkaan has revealed to us. But until we know the full meaning of these signs, we can only wait and pray. Be watchful and have courage.

In particular, be watchful for Päkkaan's words and visions. If you believe He has given a sign to you, it is imperative that you speak of it."

Gregor goes to The Old Bear and spends one of his newly gained coins on food and drink. There are some other customers here. Two people from the city, and three from somewhere else. Two of them are humans, obviously warriors, and the third is a bookish but good looking elf.

Nisos eats his breakfast slowly, while eavesdropping on nearby conversations.

Adarim
Let's see...do I risk it? Can I take these men if I'm wanted here?
Analyze combat strength. Approach them if it seems safe enough. Otherwise, continue to listen.

Gregor acts:
I size up the customers and try to determine if I can use or be of use to any of them. Barring that, if any of them have purses fat enough to draw my attention. I'll speak to the most promising looking ones if I must but I'd rather avoid conversation until I've gathered enough information for a pitch of some kind.

Saucix decides to speak of his vision, of a white animal making it's way through the snow, a large rocky outcropping with a large stone door and melting ice and the great fire.

Adarim takes a look at the people around the room. The elf is the model of a young and fragile scholar, while the armored warrior looks like he's got the muscles to fill out his suit. The dirty man seems weak, but he's got a sturdy build and sharp, calculating eyes. The two locals are average city-folk, probably with jobs that don't demand much physical work.

The innkeeper approaches Adarim.

"Can I get you anything, sir?"

Gregor looks over the customers. The locals are not of interest, probably craftspeople, little money. The man in armor looks like he lives life one day at a time... not one to save up gold. The other warrior's eyes twitch from person the person, he seems a little nervous. His purse looks decently heavy. The elf wears fine but worn clothes... and has a positively bursting purse.

The two locals continue their conversation.

"Not much we can do, anyway. Human talks, Päkkaan walks."

"True, the priests can figure out their own riddles... Have we got an answer from Uthid to our offer yet?"

---

Mother Salvegard listens to Saucix as he retells his dream.

"Very interesting, my child. That white animal... this is worth looking into. Hire some escorts, go north and find the place you saw in your dream. See what is there."

She gestures at a priest, who hurries out a door and returns with a heavy bag.

"This should cover your expenses."

The priest hands the bag to Saucix. It contains 100 gold pieces.

Gregor thinks:
That warrior is a little too twitchy for my tastes. I shall reluctantly have to pass him up for now. Mark him, well, Gregor, another opportunity may come to relieve him of that burdensome purse...perhaps as he sleeps...yes. Nor the religious folk...that bag is a prize, to be sure, but so many eyes watch its progress. Perhaps I can make myself available to him. But in the meantime, ah, yes, that elf looks wearied by his load...let's see what we can do to help him.

Gregor acts:
I'll sidle up to the elf and engage him in pleasantries. And if I judge him to seem distracted, try to lighten his purse some. I'll also keep an ear out for the opportunity to serve as an escort to the other elf.

I'm not sure if I understood right, but we are all in the same place now, yeah?

Saucix grabs his gear and armours up, and heads to an inn to scope out some escorts.

Saucix goes to the nearest inn, The Old Bear, which several rough looking figures are visiting.

Now that Saucix is at the inn, yes you are. Get talking, you don't have to run that through me :)

Gregor says to "the wealthy elf":
Ho, traveler. Which Wind delivers you to Eisgir?

Nisos turns his attention to Gregor and subtly attempts to use his people skills to determine the trustworthiness of the man.

Hello, I have came to this town upon the tip of a friend, he said that the barren north had a drought of people with my skills, and it turns out that is because no one wants us.

He laughs, pauses to take a breath, then says;
So, what do you pass the time with these days?

Gregor says to the elf, with a friendly smile:
Oh, I'm sure someone around will have use of your skills, friend....uh...excuse me, what shall I call you? And which skill do you possess? I may know a use for them.

Gregor is personable enough, if a little...sleazy, like a salesman. Just don't sit too close.

Saucix notices Gerald in full plate armour and decides he would make an excellent escort.

Greetings, I'm looking for a sellsword.

Nisos leans back in his chair, and says to Gregor:

My name is Nisos Bronzetongue, I happen to be an apprentice mage, I got my Gilthe from the famed "Dragon School" of Vinheim, although it seems to be more infamous than famous of late.

So, what shall I call you, and what do you do for a living?
