Rise of Nations

It's a cool game, but I can't seem to find any fansite about it with good maps and scenarios.

Also, discuss.

I used too many nukes in this game, carpet bombing with nukes = angry pc for rendering all that crap.

(basically I had researched artificial intelligence, and put all of my missile silos on infinite cue, launched missile, pauzed the game, launched another. rinse repeat.)
Act first, then think, then try to find a way to cover up the horrible mess you made.

One of my friends has been trying to get me to be as into Rise of Nations as he is, and he still considers it one of the best all-time strategy games ever made, in league with Company of Heroes and Dawn of War 2. I heard rumours from him though that Big Huge Games got bought by Relic, and a way awesome game is supposedly in the works.

I thought RON was okay, but there was still too much for me to wrap my head around, and I'd need to play a lot before i got good. I did really enjoy that every country had regular updates throughout the course of history, like the Aztecs and Iroquois.

It's ok, but the computers are using Rody's carpet-nuking strategy, and I am getting TIRED of it. Plus, the scenarios suck.

So then, who likes RoL? I like that it won't take 2-3 yrs. to figure out good strategies for each race.

I never really got into RoN or RoL. But my brother did. Carpet nukes ftw.
