Anyone ever heard of it? It's a very BrikWars-y game set in the universe of Warhammer 40k, made by Games Workshop. The rules are completely free, and it doesn't' cost as much to play as many GW games of the genre.

Yup. Even though it costs a lot less than 40k practically no-one plays.

Anyone ever tried making the ships out of LEGO? Maybe on LDD? I dunno, but it sounds like it could work!

LDD would be worst than real lego, just modify the rules and make them in lego.
large micro-scale ships would work.

How's that compression ratio?

There is no reason why it wouldn't work. Be sure to post up the result.

Anyone want to try to make ships out of LEGO? It would not have to look like the ships so a ship could be any ship in the game. We could try a BFG Forum Battle, too!

Whileit looks semi-cool, 40k is better. Why? I can go into lots of detail, but I will use just a single word: Carnafex. That sums it up.

Some of these rules look pretty good, especially their fighter rules. I may employ them.
However, they don't have frictionless movement (although they do simulate it better than some other games do), so I'm probably never going to adopt their rules verbatim.
