And Bfenix, picnics are awesome. Especially picnics where you get to eat MREs, delivered on-site by a military helicopter (I did that once, completely redefined "picnic" for me).
OneEye589 wrote:I like the idea, but don't do it FPS style, do it more like an RTS or 3rd person RPG (Baldur's Gate, Fallout 1 and 2). IT would be much easier that way, as you can draw a bird's eye view of the map, then move the characters on top of it and send a restricted view of what's in front of them, still in a bird's eye view.
This would make it so you don't have to draw a first person view every turn. You just draw the map and the characters, put it into Photoshop or GIMP on different layers, and move the people around. Then crop an image and save that separately.
I would also make it initiative-roll based, but still have the power-ups scattered around like a FPS. Just a different view to make it WAY easier.

But, your idea sounds like it would be even harder to do. You would have to get all of the actors together at the same time to take the pictures, make sure everything was always set up exactly the same, etc. It just seems like a lot more work.
