Surprised we don't have a thread for this yet, It's been out for around a week in Japan and since Friday in the EU.
Got mine on Saturday 26th.

The pre installed games are quite nice, theirs a really cool AR game and a weird face shooting game, along with a music player/recorder and a camera which makes use of the dual cameras on the front to take 3D pictures.

I am loving how the 3D works, the depth is really nice and looks really clean and crisp. Also too all the doubters; It works brilliantly and smoothly.
The hardware design is lovely. The software design and interface is clean and responsive.
The battery life isn't an issue as it comes with a charging cradle that makes changing easy and gives you a place to store the device, making charging as little hassle as dumping it on the table would be.
Non of the launch titles seem all too great but that's not too unusual. Though the fact that much of the software isn't their yet and will be added by May is a bit annoying; hope they get the browser on it soon.

Either way, Share opinions and friend codes here!

I heard something about an Astarte egg game, one included with the system. FindMii or something, a really basic RPG. Seen anything on that?

Haven't got an "egg game"
Theirs IS a basic RPG, called "Streetpass Quest" (Might be different for the NA release?)
Played a bit and it's all a bit meh. It's really basic and has nothing new. About the only cool thing is it's multiplayer, however in that annoying "optional but if you don't get some other people your gonna get your arse kicked" kinda way.

What I want to know about this is:
1. Can it translate older games into 3D?
2. Is it even reverse-compatible with said older games (as in old DS, not GBA)
3. Is the 3D Ocarina of Time built like the N64 one or Wind Waker/Phantom Hourglass/Spirit Tracks?

6. No, that would take shitloads of programming and updates to those games themselves.
7. Yes, it is reverse-compat.
8. I have no freakin idea. Google it.

Ross, FindMii is the American name, and it's not an Astarte egg. It's part of a game.

I love the 3ds, it is really cool. Aug reality works so well, and the 3d is fun.

I dunno, a game already rendered in 3D (like FPSs) might be able to be translated with just the code in the 3DS.

You're talking about two completely different 3D's. Games with three-dimensional graphics just mean they look more realistic; the image itself is not three-dimensional. 3D projection (or whatever you want to call it) involves making an image on your screen actually appear to be three-dimensional.

So no, this would not be easy.

It requires a 3D rendering to make a 3D game, the only difference between a 3D rendered 2D game and a 3D game is that the action is presented from two different angles, with one image going to each eye.
