I just came back from a LARP con. Swedish LARPs tend to be pretty artsy, with a lot of emphasis on identifying with your character, while realistic-looking equipment and environments are not as important.
For example, one of the mini-LARPs I took part in had the backstory of Sweden getting nuked, and sixteen people in a bus survive, miles from civilisation. Then it got Lord of the Fliesy from there. It was awesome. Especially because when you died, you would remain as a 'shadow' and whisper things into the ears of the living, representing their subconscious thoughts.

I go to school with runns, and from my experience, the Z-Game is also really dam creepy, trying to keep quiet hiding in the shadows as zeds walk by. its really freaky.

FACT: HvZ has been a deciding factor in college choices since December for me.

We tried to get humans versus zombies approved for my school, but some kid got shot at such an event last year, so they won't do it.
We did have a nice dart war in our dorms of winter break, though. All four floors, but only the lobbies of each. Made for an interesting game of capture-the-floor.
