ERTD: Bloodbath (Signup/Chargen/Scenario)

The kingdom of Tyrin has a long and distinguished history of warfare. Beginning as a small coalition of towns, Tyrin expanded, conquering more and more territory, until it became one of the largest powers in the world. But then, over the course of the next two hundred years, things began to change. A coup replaced the royal line with one that emphasized less on military strength, and the military began to downsize. Trade was expanded, with the adjacent Vermat Republic becoming the chief importer and exporter. All was well until a messenger rode up to the Tyrin keep with a message and a token. The message; surrender. Now. The token; the head of the ambassador to Vermat. A minor uproar followed, ending when the king himself told the messenger where to stuff his ultimatum, and ordered the military to the border.

But they were already too late...

The Republic of Vermat is known for its strong military, and the tip of its spear are its wyvern riders. Already they had crossed the border, and crushed the army before they knew that their enemy was in the country. Cities and towns on the borders were burned to the ground, and the riders of Vermat pushed into the kingdom.

The players will take the role of survivors of the initial combat, and must piece the army back together and fight off the invading enemy, all while trying to figure out why the hell a longtime ally would invade like this.

(Templates, etc. will be comming in a few hours. In the meantime, feel free to mock the plot if you think it's trite, lame, or whatever. Also if you have no idea what a wyvern is, look it up.)
