I have tons of Ice Age, Homelands, and 4th Core. Most of my stuff is from Scourge and around that time though.

The time around Scourge (Odyssey block and Onslaught block to be exact) was one of the best times in the game's history.

Thinking back and looking at lists of the different blocks, I have mostly:

8th Core
Ice Age
Planeshift (I think I have most of this set, aside from the rarest)
Onslaught
Scourge
Mirrodin

I stopped around Fifth Dawn. I got a few packs and that's it. I also got a few packs of the first Kamigawa set.

I play red blue CounterBurn deck and i rulez (unfortunately, only in home).

I started playing when everyone was hyped about Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokemon and Digimon TCGs. Still play it, has kept me some friendships alive.

Something like once a month me and a bud of mine visit our "local" hobby shop and check out the new expansions and play against other people. If you want to get better, stick to one single deck and challenge various people with different decks, from that, you just keep going and improving. It's really hard to keep up with MTG unless you're taking it seriously. By the time I get enough money to have a taste of something new, something newer shows up.

Anyways, I love this game and I can easily say it's right next to Brikwars as my favorite games.

You'll usually see me playing with a goblin deck, a red/black destroy or an experimental red/blue. I went to a tournament last year, won a FOIL Nightmare and a Ursa's Legacy deck, not bad eh?

A friend of mine created a proliferate deck with the sole purpose of helping me kick ass in doubleheaded giant. So far we only lost against the 2 people in our group who we all recognize as pants shittingly good.

That's me. Sadly that leads to trouble playing with my more casual friends. I have to build a deck bad on purpose in order to give them a chance.

I've played a little with my suitemate, he's not super serious about it or anything, plays strictly casual, but judging for his boxes he brings up.. Man. Anyway, played a half dozen to dozen games with some of his deck builds last semester over a month or so, haven't really played since. It wasn't that I disliked it.. I just saw the $$$ that would be involved to set up my own collection, and he would be basically the only person I would want to play with (except a brother who I'd have to bug to hell and back). So. There ya have it.

Just saw a friend of mine play his hydra deck today, hadn't seen it in action before. It was horrifying. At one point he had a 30/30 in play and all his creatures were hex proof. Than he played Phytohydra, still with the blanket hexproof. Needless to say, he won.

The latest Hydras are to be put out of the board ASAP. They can be a huge long term problem.

That's about the time I left the game for the first time. Even though tournaments were broken as hell (Combo Winter anyone?), I have fond memories of Tempest/Urza blocks. But I think the greatest block of the game is/was Invasion-Planeshift-Apocalypse.

BUUTTT, I've since sold off my entire collection for lots of cash , and only keep three casual decks just for kicks. Legacy Elf Aggro, Merfolk infinite combo, and budget Reanimate.

The reason I say that it was one of the best times is because of how high attendance rates were at tournaments at the time. There were some of the highest rates of tournament attendance around the Oddessy/Onslaught blocks.
