People who don't live with their moms

Since there's been some discussion about teenagers on the forum as opposed to people living in the perpetual "almost 30" category, I was wondering if I ought to set a forum area aside for kids-free discussion. I expect that this discussion would center mostly around beer and, to a lesser degree, mortgages.

I had to think for a minute about the best way to divide adults from non-adults, since it seems wrong to pick some number as the arbitrary age boundary.

I think the best way is to ask "Do you live with your mom?" If there's someone else who could set your curfew, whether it's your mom, your grandma, your parole officer, maybe the administrator at your psychiatric institution, etc., then you are not an adult. If you rule your own domain and pay your own bills, then you are. That's easy enough, right?

so how about me, I live at college most of the year but I don't pay for it myself. However, I talk about beer all the time and I pay phone and internet bills. I set my own curfew and I'm renting a house with some friends that we won't actually live in until this spring. I would ask if I belong in this discussion but that would be a very "live-with-your-mom" thing to do, so I'll just start posting anyway.
