I believe that award goes to Machiavelli, who trolled via The Prince.
I feel that Eris deserves at least a polite nod; that golden kallisti apple was history's finest troll.
No dude. That wasn't history's finest troll... This was.

Well I don't know... you can also say that the government that banned the lyrics are somewhat to blame.
Act first, then think, then try to find a way to cover up the horrible mess you made.

I am not a member of any religion for the same reason I am not a member of any political party, almost nothing appeals to me.
For example, I would like to partake in the norse or celtic churches, but it seems that both of them are dated and filled with posers. I was also thinking of becoming jewish, but then I would have to worry about anti-semitism and getting cut and paying for my child's barmitzvah.
As for politics it's like I say "righty tighty, lefty loosey" I might want to join the green party, but I know few things about it and I used to want to be a conservative because I believe in imperialism, but people in North America are a bunch of dumbasses and assholes.

My position in this world's religions stands. Religions create hate, difference and ultimately, war. Religion is a cancer to humanity, giving the masses a false sense of comfort they should find in other life values.

Television can do all of this too.

People create hate, difference, and war. People create religion.
It's like the whole "people don't kill people, guns kill people" thing. Are you going to take away everyone's hunting rifles because some people with an illegally purchased assault weapon?
In the right hands, religion can be a useful tool. The people leading religions are the ones who spread hate, but not all religious people are bad. There are extremists and CERTAIN religions are harmful, but it's ignorant to say that it's the religion that turn people bad. If a person is mentally unstable and morally corrupt, they will be that way, with or without religion.

Arent those people the downfall of mankind? How is it possible to deny such people power and leadership?

Yes, those people are. You're saying the religion and beliefs themselves are inherently bad as opposed to the people who do the bad things. Those are two totally different statements.

Well, I guess religion is what people make of it, since it was made by people, twisted or not. And most religions have darkened pasts that eventually make "believing" in them currently very difficult, losing all credibility, for me at least. I guess we shouldn't judge things for what they were, but some wounds can be inflicted way to deep to be forgiven or forgotten.

All religion is is a set of beliefs based around supernatural forces. Just because someone believes in God doesn't mean that they will go to the same extremes as those before them. It's close-minded to think that all people who believe in spiritual powers only follow the Bible or some other text that was put in front of them. Some people can find God or their ideals without any book or guidance from a church.
Being a religious person doesn't mean following in the footsteps of a religion. Thinking that everyone who worships something you don't believe in is stupid and a bad person makes you an extremist as well. You just don't go off and kill people for it.
EDIT: Just found this while Stumbling.

does sacred geometry and believing that mathematical values control our entire universe and that everything is basically just numbers count as a religion?

Depends. If you see those mathematical values and their nature as somewhat supernatural and they are there for some higher purpose other than just coincidence, yes. Religion is mostly about higher purpose, a reason why things happen other than just the course of nature or fate/destiny.
