that's exactly the problem. i love the lolwut pear. but there it is, being desecrated in a very poorly tiled background to a page that doesn't mesh with the pear at ALL, and is basically all the "WELL THIS IS COOL LET'S THROW THAT IN TOO" crap all in one huge steaming pile.

LOLWUT pear is by no means a background image. it's very distracting to whatever the page is trying to focus on (i'm guessing it's all the la la love you's?). if you HAVE to use a background image, use one that isn't distracting or is very neutral colors. the background image for these forums is a perfect example.
