Okay, orders here- as long as at least a couple people (mgb, aplphafalcon) are with me on the plan, i think it'll still work (so if its mgb and alphafalcon they would work best as shooters I think), though those who have not posted orders, or who read over it, I think it might be a good idea to join the setup, it will definitely help us take these guys out with greater ease than last time.

Flash turns to the group:

"Right, so the plan here is obviously stealth and guile, guile and stealth- the words are interchangeable, but the plan isn't! Just remember, stick to the plan I so brilliantly devised and explained to you all just now, and we'll be almost as golden as my perfect hair. Which is pretty damn golden, if I do say so myself- and I DO say so myself."

Flash then takes his place playing point behind the wall just out of sight from the archway (left archway, the side closest to the entrance we just came in from) and prepares a flashy and almost-too-showy-but-not-quite-overly-showy supernatural beamsaber counterattack for any enemies that come rushing forward, making certain they get cut down before they can ever reach the shooters should they break the plane of the archway (IE- wait until they cross into the corridor, then take them out from my position without jumping right into the middle of a group- hold the position and make attacks from where I am standing as best as possible, but don't leave the shooters hanging if they get rushed).

Flash remarks to himself as he waits: "Haha this plan is ingenious! Damn this crew is so lucky to have me as their Captain, there isn't another being in the galaxy capable of such strategic and tactical virtuosity! Sigh, if only my Spacefleet crew were here, I could really be giving them some great lessons in combat planning and execution right now...."

"...Tis is truely a sad day as none of my comrades have seen the true potential of this hill, however I must be forever vigilant of them and follow in suit, for who knows what dangers might arise and trouble my friends and allies especially that of my dear captain Flash, to him I owe my life and shall ever be grateful, to death and glory hill, viva la vida."
Before going down, Garth took one last look at the city from his premium scouting location.

Image
He sees a damzel in distress:
“It's terrible! The plant isn't working anymore! What are we gonna do if we can no longer use it!”

Image
And it looks like the Raiders are up to something.
“I told you that was him.”
“What do we do?”
“Call the Godfather.”

Inside the cave
Image
Space Detective: "Let us formulate a battle plan so we don't go charging in and getting killed, like last time."

Image
Vera heads for the doorway to their left.
"You von't fight? Ehe, and you call yourself man."

Image
Looking for the safest place to stand, the Post-Apoc Survivor moves to the back of the group.
"I didn't survive the apocalypse by charging into a fight!"

Image
After exhausting her movement, Vera realizes she doesn't have a weapon so she turns to her suitor.
"Here you go, Vera. I crafted this sword for the woman I would marry."

Image
With no enemy in range, Vera stands ready to defend.

Image
Flash submits a plan to the group.
“What I propose we do is this...”
He carefully explains all the details.

Image
"Your plan is a mighty one, why I remember when I was still yellow and my squad of Ghost's in the ESF used the same tactic"
The Post-Apoc Survivor position himself according to Captain Flash's directives.

Image
A bit less enthusiastic, Jaras joins Flash in his plan.
"That might work", he says as he and the Space Detective switch their positions.

Image
Jaras gets a better view of the bats inside the passage to their right.

Image
Carlos: “I'm not going to waste my new-found grenades on either entanglement if I can help it; I'm not sure how stable the cave is, given that pile of fallen rocks over there, and I don't want to find out the hard way. Other than that, you can count me in.”

Image
Carlos moves in the archway.
“More dangerous means nothing to me, but you ever try shooting a spider with a handgun?”

Image
He casts a psychik tripwire between them and the beetles

Image
Then he gets back to his place at the back of the group.
He enchant his gun and aims...

Image
With everyone in place, Flash gives the signal.

Image
Carlos fire between Vera and her lover.
As the explosive shot resonates throughout the cave, Flash remarks to himself:
"Haha this plan is ingenious! Damn this crew is so lucky to have me as their Captain, there isn't another being in the galaxy capable of such strategic and tactical virtuosity! Sigh, if only my Spacefleet crew were here, I could really be giving them some great lessons in combat planning and execution right now...."

Image
The shot wasn't bad, especially considering the distance, but it didn't spill blood.
One beetle is disrupted and all the others have been triggered to attack by the explosion.

Image
The Mosquito flies to attack Vera...

Image
But she was ready for anyting! (+12xp!)

Image
The Post-Apoc Survivor and the Space Detective fire reaction shots at the beetles coming for the group but even their combined damage isn't enough to take out one of them.

Image
The tripwire detonates when the first beetle crosses its path, throwing it in the pool of water.
Frightened by the explosion, the other Beetles stop.

Space
Image
Gimbles: "Damn all this bureaucracy, it always springs up at the least opportune times! Oh well, as Captain Maxwell always says, its bureaucracy that separates us heroes and upstanding paragons of justice from the lawless brigands and scum of the universe, so we'll have to comply- well, mostly."
Gimbles responds to Noxarian Control:
"Roger that. Will hold position while you run the access codes. Mayfair Out."

The Sad Clown
Image
Among the junk used as chaff, the Sad Clown pulls out a hidden balloon and proceeds to inflate it (Yes, in space).

Image
“BOU'HOUHOUHOU YOU FOOLS-”

Image
“ONCE AGAIN, I, PIERRO MIMSEY-”

Image
“THE SAD CLOWN OF BOZOR-KARSEI 7 HAVE MADE MY ESCAPE-”

Image
“LET THE WHIMSEY RESUME-”

Image
“BOU'HOUHOUHOU!!!”
He shapes the balloon into a jetpack.

Image
Onboard the SCS Avoidance, Gimbles notices the Sad Clown wearing the jetpack and turns to Biff, the other crewman: "Biff."
Biff: "Yes?"

Image
Gimbles: "When you released all the makeshift chaff, did you unload torpedo bay #2?"
Biff: "Yes"
Gimbles facepalms:
"Congratulations, you've just unleashed an S-class intergalactic criminal into an unsuspecting sector. Captain Maxwell is going to be overjoyed."
Biff: "Uh, oops?"

Image
Inside the Chimera, the pilots become emotional when they see the look on the Sad Clown face:
"He looks so sad. Why are we crying? I can't see anything through these tears!"

Image
The sad clown lands safely on the Chimera and pops the jetpack.

Image
Image
He then rips the communication antenna.

SCS Avoidance (Lord Mercat)
Image
Gimbles:
"No, seriously I think this is like the fifth time we've done this, we have got to stop using the torpedo bay as a cell. Oh, right, we've got worse problems to worry about-"
Gimbles responds to the Noxarian Interceptor:
"This is SCS Avoidance to Patrol- 21, we copy- consider it Spacefleet's honor to fight alongside you, might as well anyhow, we're going to be waiting for clearance for more than a while it seems."

Image
"Alright, we're going to pull the Maxwell Shuffle, remember even if the Captain isn't here, we, his greatest students still are- so, lets make him proud! Swing the ship Starboard 45 degrees, double time, vent cooling fluids to the port engine, and let all weapons open fire- target the torpedo array on the main frigate, and keep the Ship behind the chaff!"

Image
A vessel of that size doesn't turn that easily but at least the engines were successfully cooled.
The avoidance rotates as much as it canbut it is not enough to be able to fire the pulse weaponry yet.

Image
The crew prepares to fire another shot with the Ion Cannon.
Gimbles: "Ha! Scurvy your mom! We shall never surrender- you face the best of Spacefleet on this day, which is more than certain to be your last, you lawless Vagrants! Hear this, Spacebeard! In the Name of Captain Flash Maxwell, Spacefleet sentences you to execution on 13 counts of illegal piracy, 11 counts of quasi-legal pillaging, 15 counts of insider trading, 4 counts of Digital Piracy, 6 violations of being an unrepentant dick, and 1 count of.. lets if I can make this out here... crossing the line, and bringing my mother into this you asshole, that was uncalled for..."

Image
"I dunno, who wrote this Biff?"
Biff: [i]"That would be Admiral Faultworthy"

"Is that last one even a violation?"
"Apparently so, see- right here under penal code #4756"
"Huh- Well okay then that last one too then. Anyway-"

Image
"End of the Road, Spacebeard!"
Unfortunately, the shot slightly misses the target and is lost in space.

Noxarian Security (Battlegrinder)
Image
The Interceptor attacks the Escort frigate but fails to hit.

Image
It completes its movement by beginning a manoeuvre around the Pirate frigate.
It is now facing the Drop Pod.

Space Pirates (Scribonius)
Image
“Arrr.... If ye be wantin a fight, then SO BE IT! All ships, fire on my command, mateys!”

Image
The Chimera continues on its course and navigate through the junk without suffering any damage from the floating debris.
It fires a torpedo at the Avoidance...

Image
The Chimera also fire its lasers but misses.
The torpedo hits the starboard engine and deals 2 points of structural damage. Another hit like that and the engine is gone!

Image
(With the port side engine cooled, the Avoidance was back to its normal 22 inches of movement per turn then the torpedo took out two size point from the engines (both engines are size 4). Inducing a -2'' to movement, the Avoidance is back to 20” per turn again. If one of the engine is completely destroyed, the Avoidance will move at half speed (minus modifier, i.e. 11” minus 1” per structural damage on the other engine).. or something like that.)

Image
The Escort fires both torpedoes at the Interceptor..

Image
"Arr, bugger off, ye bloody bastards! This be MY booty!"
-2hp (6/8 left)

Image
The four laser guns take another hp from the interceptor (5/8 left)

ESF Reinforcements (NPC)
Image
The Drop pod advances 25 inches.

Image
Another Drop Pod enters the area!

The Post Apocalypse soldier groans as he sees the ESF readout, "Captain Flash would you care telling your new allies up in space that my drop pods must land." He then fires into the beasts infront of him.

Vera's suitor (name subject to change): "Oh man, I haven't had beetle juice in years!" He dabs his finger in the beetle's blood and starts to eat some. "Honey, you have to try this, it's delicious."

Vera will ignore her suitor, and move to attack that bug near the water.

Oh man, first I have to say that I love the trail of rainbow stardust trailing out of pierro's jetpack, that was awesome- and the balloon in space was hilarious!

Second, before I place orders, I think we would be best served to continue our formation- have the shooters (carlos, post apoc, and space detective) fire then advance forward slowly, with the melee vanguard (Vera, Flash, and Jaras,) advance and take up defensive positions on the inside of the archway where the beetles are (the opposite side of where flash and jaras currently are) and prepare powerful response actions to repel charging beetles. Furthermore, as these guys seem pretty tough, we should combine attacks for greater effect.

What do you guys think?

Also, Alpha, Flash doesn't have a communicator with him, he was using the raider's frequency when he contacted his crew earlier- just use your post apocs esf reader to beam up clearance codes.

Super charged bullet time. I want sheer damage on whichever enemy poses the most threat, especially if they are not disrupted.

Okay, good enough with the plan I suppose. orders as follows:

"Alright, crewmen! Onward to adventure and glory! Make your Captain proud!"

Have Flash advance slowly with the rest of the heroes, staying behind where Vera and her follower are, but not blocking the aim of the shooters (right about where he is now, only on the inside of the cave versus in the hallway). Prepare a powerful supernatural response counter-assault for any enemy that enters his beamsaber's range. (and, failing that, a bail out of harm's way back through the arch)

"Haha! No mere space-roach is a match for Captain Flash Maxwell and his trusty crew, makeshift though they may be!" Flash then remarks on the situation: "With all this flawless leadership, dazzling field commanding, and not to mention my trademark knockout looks, after this mission is over, I am SO getting my 27th cover on Intergalactic Magazine!
