The icons charge, slaying two imperials. One of them sustains a hit.
The avatar grabs and pulverizes an imperial footman.
Imperials - Scratch
Cales orders the ribault be loaded with the fallen Bulls' halberds.
Even the avatar isn't impervious to this kind of damage: he takes a hit.
Tank and starcapes fire again and scrape off another HP.
Cales and the lieutenant attack the crossbowmen, killing one of them.
Finally a combined cavalry and infantry attack puts down the icons.
Moments later, the battlefield is quiet. The avatar unsummoned itself to fight another day, taking the last crossbowman with it.
Imperial officer: "Your plan worked, sir! The day is ours!"
Cales: "Let this day be remembered as the first great victory of the redeemed Empire."
Imperial officer: "Though it appears some of them got away."
Cales: "Let them run, whatever message they get to the remaining royalists will arrive too late. The Queen has taken the bulk of the army through the Falx portal, and trust me, they're not coming back. The Urban Guard will drive the royalists from the cities and deliver them to us. We'll destroy their resistance from within. Now prepare to march, there is a kingdom ripe for the taking!"
