After enslaving the orks, the Falx have found the largest cache of ebonite ore ever since their arrival to Northeros. Using their newly discovered resources, they have constructed Portal Fortress Conquest, a massive stronghold deep in Imperial lands. Majisto, with the aid of Gallikronn, has spotted their activity and even managed to gather a small chunk of ebonite for study. King Mondaine deemed the Falx cannot be trusted since they are 'in league' with the orks, so he has dispatched a strike force to drive them out and destroy the fortress.

The Falx lords gather at Portal Fortress Conquest, ready to face the Imperials for the first time at large:

Image

Torquemada: 'So the natives decided to show up at last. I must commend they knew when to strike, since the fortress is not yet functional.'
Pizzaro: 'They seem well-prepared, they might even pose us a challenge.'
Barthelomeo: 'Bah, as if! They will bow before the Falx just like all those lesser creatures we have already crushed!'
Isabella: 'Well if anything, we have plenty of fodder in the form of these savage greenskins.'
Torquemada: 'Regrettably, I cannot join this battle directly. The underlings have unearthed this rather... curious sample of ebonite. It feels much more potent than any other veins before. If you can hold up the attackers, I might be able to use it's powers to our benefit.'

Image

Blaze: 'Hah, back on the fields just like in the old times huh lad?'
Apollyon: 'Indeed old friend, although I hoped this moment would have come a little later. Still, we must do our best and defend our lands from these peculiar invaders.'

Image

Ferdinand: 'I'm more interested in their technical prowess; erecting such a massive fort within a few days is no simple feat! Though it seems they rely heavily on orks as of now.'

Welcome to Act 5: Retaliation!

Apollyon please.

Out of curiosity, how much connection is there between this storyline and Brag's?

Connection is rather minimal save for a few cameos as the storylines are happening on different continents. General concensus is that the kingdoms/empires are far too engulfed in their own wars to allow for diplomacy between them.

Most people in Westeron (the island my battles take place on) aren't even aware Easteros exists, save for the King (who sent Xalen there on a quest to gain power). More on that later. Zahru has appeared in some of my fights and the crimson knight Xalen has also appeared in some of Zahru's battles though (and it was awesome, you should read those reports). The Falx also appear in both.

Setting up some sort of cross-islands story / plot together with Zahru II (and possibly other fellow Medivo brikwarriors) sounds awesome, but the sheer logistics and planning involved (for example: I have 0 fantasy orcs) would likely give us a headache. Hungary also isn't exactly next door to Belgium. But who knows, maybe one day we'll think of something ;)

I don't mean to sound ungrateful but I think I'll leave Ferdinand to Silent because he always does awesome playing as him. I'll take Lord Barthelomeo instead then.

Heck even I didn't know Easteros was a thing! :P But I suppose they must be unaware of Northeros/Midran as well :)

Supposedly there was a very thin plot connection that the Westeron Urban Guard was a castaway Northeros expedition that got 'integrated' into the kingdom as local guards, but I think Brags retconned that already.

ANYWAY, all spots are claimed, accepting turn 1 orders now!

Yes, Northeros, that's what I meant, urgh.

The first Urban Guards may have been but there would've never been enough to form the entire guard. They're recruited mostly from citizens, but they may have kept the uniform ;) I do have a plot point in mind about how people like them or even Sir Pablo made it into the Kingdom of Westeron but I simply haven't revealed it yet.

Anyway, back on topic, I think it's interesting that the armies basically mirror each other on this one. Should make for an interesting fight.
