In remote space...
As a direct result of recent events, the Darkstar, first of the Immortal Fleet's Terrorcharger-class light battle cruisers picked up readings of several ships heading quickly in their direction...
Seras: "Colonel, ships are coming out of hyperspace. The Inquistadorial escorts we were told to expect, perhaps?"
Sharane Darkstar: "Hm. I wonder."
Ships did appear...
But they weren't friendly escort ships!
Captain Victoria: "Mastercutor, ready to strike."
Lieutenant Kirsten: "Eagle, ready to strike."
Captain Axl: "Dominator, ready to strike."
Sharane Darkstar: "Well, well. Apparently, someone let the coordinates I sent to the Inquistadores slip. Those people are even more incompetent than I thought."
Captain Victoria: "Pilot, set up a communication line with the Darkstar."
"Sir yes sir!"
"Greetings, invaders. The Inquistadores you were hoping for won't be coming. We just exterminated their entire council and left them in disarray. Surrender your ship to us now or you will soon join them in the afterlife."
"Hm. So they got themselves killed... One less business meeting for me to attend to, then. Fine, this means I'll just have to move on your Empire directly after I've dealt with you here. No point in meeting with a council that no longer exists. Men, prepare all systems for battle."
"As you wish!"
"Pilot, also send an emergency distress call to anyone who would hear it. We'll be needing some backup."
"Colonel, we're in remote space. Who knows what kinds of vessels a distress call might attract!"
"Do it anyway. We won't stand much of a chance with these odds as it is now, so we might as well take the risk."
"If you insist..."
And so, the ships readied their weapon systems and closed for combat...
Available factions:
Darkstar (Colonel Sharane): Ham
Mastercutor (Captain Victoria): Theblackdog
Dominator (Captain Axl): RobotMonkey
Eagle (Lieutenant Kirsten): Lord Mercat
Secret faction 1: I'll take this one.
Secret faction 2: Natalya
Secret faction 3: mgb
I would prefer Immortal side players to command the Immortals and Anti-Immortal side players to command the enemies of the Immortals to avoid filthy treachery (=p), it would help if you post your faction and affiliation as you sign up 'cos I don't know all of these by heart naturally.
Once you've signed up I'll send you details on your ship and crew (once I've made them, eh eh eh). Turn order is fixed so you can send orders the moment you have your ship's info. My little rule system can be found here. The only thing I've changed is that you can now destroy weaponry and damage the hull of the ship at the same time, the +1 to the difficulty of the roll for specific targeting of systems remains however. You'll increase your chance of success if you read the battle report while you wait for your ship's stats
