The President's Speech (Turn 1)

Rioters (heavyfishcannon)
The pyromaniacs advance and start to throw molotov cocktails on the Riot squad. Two out of three do not reach their targets but the third one hits and ignite two Riot Officers.
Image

Seeing that he's the coolest minifig of the group, the Spokesperson takes off his pants, turns them into a cape and promotes himself to hero.
“We have heard enough of these meaningless speeches! They will not shut us up today! Charge!!”
+1 to all attack rolls
Image

The guitar man tries to rip a :666: chord but not much comes out of his unplugged electric guitar. Still, it amuses the rioters around him and this puts them in a good mood.
Movement increased by one inch.
Image

Four Rioters charge toward the Riot squad. One of them trips and falls. The Riot Officers knock down two of them with their riot shields but the fourth one builds a good momentum and knocks an Officer three inches back. The Officer did not drop is equipment but he is disrupted for this turn.
Image

Blocked by the fire or simply unable to get appropriate charging lines, the rest of the group advance and prepares to fight.

Need orders from Noxarian Raiders (Alex) to continue.

Noxarian Raiders:Alex

The Hero steps forward with his badassitude. He looks at the guards right in the eyes and tries to intimidate them:
“You better watch yourselves. I'm coming for you all”
Image

Critical fail! The guards get angry! An endorphin rush boosts their desire to fight.
+1 Armor
Image

The group of raiders moves toward the door and opens fire. Despite a few missed shots, two guards are killed.
Image

Space Pirates:Silverdream

The Escort increase its altitude, gets in torpedoes range, aim for the engines and fire!
Image
Image

"Damage Report."
"Port side engine and laser destroyed. Maximum speed reduced by fifty percent. A stabilizer was also destroyed. Flight stability will be compromised if we lose another."

Image

The two small frigates advance at full speed and open fire on the presidential frigate.
Image

They aim at the cockpit, but only manage to break the glass.

Whats the stats of the torpedoe the space pirates lauched?
and the armor of the bigger frigate?
because that shot wa so powerful!
Anyway, 20" is way too much for a battle this size!
Ok, maybe not, but still, getting from one and of the battlefield to the other
makes it look a bit too fast. Its lenght (in inch) times 2 would give some challenge!
Because, if they didn't came in range, im sure the battle would have been cooler with frigate against frigate battle,
not one destroying the other propulsion system in the first turn.
Anyway, this is still [False] :666: [/False] awesome

Is he in range for response fire from the frigate?

As they are now, the Escort is not but the other two small frigates are.
Legofighter wrote:Whats the stats of the torpedoe the space pirates lauched? Size 3 rocket (18'' range, 3d10exp dmg, use: 6).. and it had only two
and the armor of the bigger frigate? Structure level 3 (structure armor 3d10, component armor 2d10)
because that shot wa so powerful! The pilot has been lucky but yes, it was quite a hit. He rolled a 6 for the first torpedo, hitting right in the engine and adding 1d6 bonus dmg (total 3d10+1d6). He then rolled a 5 for the second torpedo. With a +1 bonus for the engine size, the second torpedo was also a hit and was enough to destroy the front left engine.
NoxSec turn in progress..

Also, I'm pretty sure atmospheric fliers, even with hover flight, immediately drop from the sky on their next turn. Then again, this is the first turn of the combat and to see something so awesome immediately crash and burn would be *slightly* disappointing anyways, so apply fudge liberally.

Then again, that explosion would likely bring the ship down right on top of the presidential frigate, and may even do enough combined explosive/collision damage to bust right through the ceiling, which is GREAT potential for awesome.

Here's how I deal with the propulsion. In the case of the Cruiser, it is equipped with a total of six engines: two horizontal and four vertical (all physically represented on the ship). I fudged that vertical propellers works independently (as opposed to helicopter blades that are balanced all together or dragon wings that works in pair) and are oversized (under normal operation, they work at a fraction of their maximum output power). Also, a skilled pilot can use the vertical propulsion system to compensate (up to a certain limit) for the loss of a horizontal propulsion device. In this case, instead of dropping to one inch of movement, the ship keep 50% of its base speed after the loss of one horizontal engine. Losing both horizontal engines would reduce the speed to one inch for as long as a pilot can compensate with the vertical propellers (and as long as there is enough vertical propellers to keep the ship in flight).

To keep the ship in the air, there must be more than 50% of the vertical propellers still in operation but the ship can start to drift if they are too unevenly distributed. At 50% (or less), a ship will lose altitude at the speed of one inch per turn (or more) if it can keep balance or a lot faster if it can't (according to the number of propellers remaining and their distribution on the ship). The Cruiser have three out of four propellers remaining so it's still fine (for now).

This is a bit unconventional but I think it's fairly realistic for that type of craft and otherwise it would be just too easy to pin them down.

Anyway I'm confident that some of them will crash sooner or later. I'm ready to bring more ships if needed.

We are under attack! To all units: Take defensive positions and pacify the area. Use of deadly force is authorized. Let's move!
+1 move granted to all units that are not in combat.
Image

While the fire increases in intensity, the Sergeant quickly moves and takes care of the closest rioter with her shotgun. The corpse falls into the fire.
Image

A riot officer steps forward and strikes the protestor on the ground but his nightstick breaks on the head of the minifig.
:wtc:
Image

An officer circumvent the fire to get to the protestors. When he gets closer, a rioter reacts and throws his axe in his direction..
Image

The axe hits the tank next to him. It's the coolant tower of the reactor powering the building! Radioactive water starts to flow...
One of the riot officers that caught fire at the beginning of the turn is now completely surrounded by flames. This is not looking good for him.
The other takes advantage of his flaming nightstick and hits the rioter in front of him. She survives but she's now on fire too.
Image

Then he realized that he is still on fire and spends the rest of his move running away from the flames.
Image

The riot officers behind the squad take a few steps back to keep themselves safe from the fire.
Image

The last officer at the door picks up the shotgun, advance and shoots on the Raiders. He kills the grenadier..
Image

..but he is immediately shot by response fire from the chix.
Image

The Conqueror positions itself and a gunner opens fire on the war machine. He hits the catapult but it resist.
The presidential frigate lift off.
Image

NoxSec units open fire on the interceptor frigate..
Image

..and deal four points of structure damage (4 remaining).
The sniper takes position (now firing at +3 skill).
Image

The receptionist gets up, grab the phone and tosses it through the window.
Image

Officers open fire on the Savages from inside the lobby and slay a beast.
Image

Matt Artin and his troops move towards the main door of the building.
Image

The last civilian join the crowd and Noxsec reorganize his forces in the stage area.
Image

The speech begin:“Good afternoon everyone. I would first like to thank you for coming to this event that could not have happened without your participation. Without you, we wouldn't have become what we are today”.
Image

Savages:Silent-sigfig

Konar uses his heroic feat to leap from his horse into the catapult and launch himself on top of the Cruiser.
Image
Image

Once on top of the Conqueror, he starts to hit the hatch with his mace. He makes some damage but is unable to break it open. One more good blow should be sufficient.
Image

The savages make a pyramid and climb onto the roof.

End of turn 1

NoxSec: 3
