In that case, I'm no expert but... since they will not be firing at figs won't it be much easier to hit their targets even with bigger guns just like smaller guns would work better against fighters? Since big guns will mostly be used on big enemy ships?
No one else had ships this big, so I just covered my ships with double barreled turrets to take out whatever came nearby. Actually the biggest threat was infantry shooting out the windows and jumping inside with jetpacks. I immediately removed said windows, and armed the crew with handguns.

Great design, I like the color & greebling (I badly need to work on that with my SHIPS). You've been here since 08, you should know betther that there are ship's in this forum that are a LOT bigger that yours. Natalya's destroyer alone is bigger than your carrier. Also, Strana & Tuefish's SHIP's each probably have more bicks than your fleet combined. You're going to need to arm them appropriately.

Yeah, I was under the impression he was talking about the month long game. Which I still want to see pictures of, complete or not.

Yes I meant in the campaign. Which as I've explained, can be seen primarily here http://www.flickr.com/photos/rstill/set ... 199603077/ and also here http://www.flickr.com/photos/rstill/set ... 558050434/ although the fleet as a whole was only used in battles whose pictures were taken by another, non forum-registered player.
