Re: Britannia : Blue Sector Codex (Fighters and stuff 3/26/1
The Bad Dogs are an elite special operations unit formed from the Britannian troops that escaped from Refuge with Admiral Blackdog. Capturing several T.L.A. warships and fighting their way to Britannian space has left them among the most experienced and skilled commandos in the Galaxy. Left to right: Slasher Danny, Crooked James, Willy the Ripper, Roger the Gunman, Angry Billy, Barking Mad Adrian, and Admiral Blackdog.
Recruited primarily from colony worlds, the troops of the Special Astro Service are experts in stealth and tracking, able to appear where the enemy least expects them. Once in position, they can direct artillery strikes or assassinate key targets with sniper rifles. The sniper rifle design is Natalya's and the rotary musket is Brag's.
The backbone of the Britannian army is their fearsome mobile artillery. Although slow-moving, once in position these weapons can annihilate entire squads of enemies.
The flak gun protects Britannian infantry from enemy aircraft. Rules-wise, it inflicts automatic damage on any flyers with an altitude of over 5" and within 18" of the gun's position.
The Steam Gatling is Britannia's most infamous weapon, capable of mowing down an entire rank of charging infantry in mere seconds. It's also probably the most fun weapon to make, in all of its guises.
The Field Gun can shell enemy bunkers or vehicles from long range. When guided by an SAS trooper, it can hit enemies behind cover.
The Valiant-class land frigate is an older design, but it has proved its worth on the battlefield time and time again. Primarily an infantry support vehicle, it is armed with a field gun, two rotary muskets, and a steam gatling. There's a hatch in the rear for troops.
The steam gatling. Seriously, I love making these things.
Obligatory about-to-run-you-over shot.
The Spitfire is Britannia's primary interceptor. A small jet engine provides propulsion in the atmosphere, while an etheric impeller is used for long-range space flight. Although it's not the fastest fighter, its small size and large wing area make it highly agile.
The Blue Sector fighters have a very different style from Silent's awesome Valkyrie, but I like them too much to change it now. I guess I can just chalk it up to the Blue Sector's lower tek level.
The Spitfire is armed with six light machine guns. While individually they are small weapons with short range, a full barrage from all six of them can shred enemy aircraft in seconds.
The Mosquito Fighter-Bomber is the Spitfire's heavier cousin, and one of Britannia's most versatile aircraft.
Its two powerful jet engines give it excellent speed, even when weighed down with a full load of weaponry. Both of these planes take design cues from their namesakes, which were British WWII aircraft.
I think I've finally got the look of Britannian aircraft down. In contrast to T.L.A. aircraft, which are more sleek and graceful with lots of weapons and engines in the back, they look very aggressive with all of their weaponry and mass concentrated in the front. I wasn't very enthusiastic about either of these planes in the beginning, but they seriously grew on me when I revisited them.
The Mosquito packs a devastating punch: four MK.II repeating cannons as its primary weapons, an underslung 4-pounder cannon to shell infantry positions, and four long-range Skyflash missiles or armour-piercing rocket-torpedoes under the wings.

Very nice. The Spitfire is really cool looking, and the Mosquito has a really nice set of engines. The artillery is also really well done.

Very nice indeed. I love how the lower the level attributes to the general aesthetic of the builds.
I do have one comments, the spitfire and the mosquito - thier names should be the other way around. The smaller fighter is definitely more of a mosquito than a spitfire and the mosquito? Well you get the point.

Not a huge fan of the land frigate but the rest is rad.

@Shadowscythe: The names were chosen from the real-life British aircraft they resembled. This is a Spitfire:
And this is a Mosquito:
Please direct your complaints to the RAF.
@Bluefog: I'm not a huge fan of the landship either, but I needed an APC/support vehicle and it does the job.

Excellent work Admiral! Give the lads an extra ration of rum and expect a Knighthood in the post!
