- Scythian Naval Military Catalouges -

- Upgrades to "Monarch" Class Battlecruiser -



With the fires of war burning, the older Monarch class battleships are being upgraded once more - following the addition of MWS (Modular Weapon Systems) to the class to modernise thier firepower, they are now being equipped with the Tri-laser defence turret designs mastered through the creation of the "Despot" Class Cruiser - essentially tripling the fearsome anti-fighter/anti-missile capability of the Monarch class and bringing them back up to date with the vessels used by other star faring powers.



The Monarch Class armed with the "Classic" Dual Heavy Laser Turrets - essentially keeping the ship equal in all aspects, a strong all rounder in the field.



The Monarch Class armed with the recent addition of Anti-Matter Projector Turrets - while it is unable to fire all four turrets at once due to thier massive energy requirements, the Monarch fires them in sequence, thus ensuring maximum capitol ship grade firepower can be delivered against the target.



The Monarch Class armed with the now modular Anti-matter missile launchers, these external bays where developed due to the recent Immortal tactic of targeting Anti-matter based missiles before other munitions, causing thier detonation - and unfortunatley, Scythian casualties. In this form, the entire bay can be ejected before a catastrophic reaction can occour. These bays are reloadable and carry 8 missiles each, more than enough to spread destruction across the stars.



The Monarch Class armed with the "Basilisk" Point Defence Turrets - these multicannon turrets can shred fighters and missiles to pieces at long range - and when combined with the new Tri-barrel systems - make fighter wings run in fear. Would you rather face a regular battleship with your fighter wings? Or an entire battleship devoted to the sole purpose of ripping small craft to shreds?

These upgrades are being taken both back and forth to every ship that can carry the new weapon systems (being every class except the Savager Frigate - which is simply too small to mount the tri-cannons effectively) in order to fight back against the ever increasingly hostile attitude of the galaxy at large.

Designed to, in spirit counter the Immortal "Banshee" sub-orbital fighter, the Naginata is a sub-orbital fire support fighter bomber, designed with heavy firepower and armour in mind, it glides at low to mid altitudes over the battlefield dealing out massive amounts of carnage with its eight turreted Lance-Laser cannons (Turreted into two sets of four) and is set to fill the Katana fighters role as a sub-orbital fighter, so that a new type of Space-only orbital fighter can eventually phase out the Katana design all together.





The Naginata is due to make its arrival into the Scythian air force by the middle of next year - and then into full production by the years end.

(As a note - I actually have most, if not all of the pieces to build this in brik form - I just need the time to be able to do so - so expect a real version of the Naginata at some point in the near future)

That's just badass, one of your best builds yet, I think, Scythe. It reminds me of the Banshee from Starcraft, except for the wings. Hope you can get this baby up in the air soon.

I think it's called that because it has mostly an air-to-ground role judging from the description.
