Introducing the SCC

Post by Cakeman » Mon Mar 22, 2010 5:15 am

The mood around the campfire was low. The vikings eyed the ninjas and the samurai, who sullenly sat next to eachother. They'd been mortal enemies, now they felt the bitter taste of defeat. "It's not fair" said Redbeard the viking. "The Crownies got flashy new gear and the builder-human seems more interested in prospering towns and castles then raids actually succeeding... what chance do we have?" They all nodded and there were hums of agreement. Then suddenly a new voice was heard striding towards the light: "Don't despair! We can thrive again by playing by their rules! Come, and I'll show you how."

That's right! A new (albeit small) faction rises: The Star Clan Coalition. After years of total neglect the minifigs suddenly noticed playtime again some years ago. But the raiding factions soon noticed that they were neglected. So they decided to embark on buildingprojects of their own, and in the process perhaps forming their own empire but out there in the great galaxy, as the local planet is to controlled by the evil crownies.

The first clan to succeed with spacetravel were the troll clan led by Broga the Visionary. He was the one who had the foresight to start building (shortly after the vibrations set in motion by the Caid sector engagement reached his world), he was the one who sacrificed so viciously to the creator-human that said human took interest in them and bestoved CreationPoints upon their ship so that the previously inanimate lump of bricks suddenly could fly through space. Glorious indeed.

The Broga Clan of the fledgling SCC were short on equipment though, and their power stemmed from their single spaceship and no real base. They raided lesser worlds for dark bley and other ABS and expanded their ship. They are still backwards in weapon teknology though, and try to trade wherever they can.

The ship is The Vision, constantly under construction and remodeling. Presently it is somewhere around 70 studs long and 10 studs wide in the interior, twice that at it's widest right now. Armament consists of 6x MK3 guns and the Visions main battery, 3x MK4 guns. 2 torpedoes can be launched and the prow is ready to accept something big weaponwise, but it is unused as of now.

The Vision is still very slow, due to underdeveloped engines.

Interior space available. Crew neede right now is 6 gunners, 1 captain, 4 mekaniks, 1 cook/quartermaster.

The tactics used right now by High King Broga is to come straight with the Visions powerful front weaponry and damn all incoming fire. The rear is as yet very undefended and Broga considers to leave it that way and perhaps leave it to a future fightersquadro to clear away small enemy craft.

Front view with opening for some weapon that might be aquired. Right now it serves as the only entrypoint into the vision.

Another shot of High King Broga and his officers dealing with untrustworthy gunrunners at the Icepact Spacestation.

The Star Clan Coalition will be a gathering of small factions for mutual protection open to all interested spacefaring clans out there. But this is the start.

Awesome idea, ship, and figures. They definitely have the barbaric space viking/pirate look to them well still seeming civilized for some reason.

Figs are good, the ship is nice just does not seem to fit with the figs and form the picture provided it seems empty.

Very nice, I wish I could take such nice pictures of my space trolls. :(

I'm working on that, though.

Thanks for the positive feedback, I'll get more pictures of the Vision up later tonight. Yes, it's quite empty interiorwise right now, but I'm planning to fix that - what do I need? Energy core, engineering, command station, some bunks for the crew... maybe I can fit in a medbay. Anything else? I do have some pics of my minifigs though.

The trolls of Clan Broga know they are yet another mutation from the pure yellow abs-line. They are however conviced that they exist for a reason. Many builder-humans have been lured by the peaches orderly uniforms, cool looks and resemblance to idols and as a result, the peaches have been able to prosper and infiltrate. The trolls are unrelenting in their war on peaches, it's their mission. The shamaness says that when all peaches are dead, the trolls will become good yellow minifigs.

However, dire times requires drastic measures. As such, High King Broga have been forced to let some peaches live to further the cause.

Image
King Broga and his retuine selling peach slaves to criminals in return for supplies.

Image
Some of Brogas naval crew. In general, the naval side of the clan is much more positive of slavery then the groundforces, who are more under the guidance of the shamanesses and their more radical views of genocide no matter what.

Image
The army still protects Broga during dangerous negotiations. Notice the lowtech weapons they use by necessity, swords and slug-guns.

Image
The red eyes of the trolls are quickly becoming known throughout the part of space the Vision frequents.

Image
Another pic of the deal going down. Broga secured munitions and supplies and a starmap of a neighboring asteroidfield wich will prove important in the near future.

That's the pictures I have on file right now, but I'll take some more of the Vision later on. I'm sure Elmagnifico will have some pics of his trolls soon. Lot's of light! Even a bad camera can take pictures if there's lots and lots of light.

The pics you take are very good, shows patience.

I'm finding it hard to get my head round the cleaner background image of these guys from what I pre-conceive Orks/Trolls to be like. It's kind of cool that you stepped back from that cliché but I'm still finding it hard to come to terms with it.
