The walker I posted that started this mini-shitstorm uses teknix pieces, which by extension are bionix pieces, since Bionicle was originally a subline of Technic.

If it's about the ball joints, I don't really see what's so bad about them...
Seriously, the only "fugly" thing I notice is how unceremoniously the technic limbs are joined to the main body, and that's just due to the cramped dimensions of the piece.

Look, I'm going to level with you, the Chick Jumper is a concept model, much like my Droid Quad Fighter, of a vehicle idea I had.

It was developed for the setting of Felarya, a super-sized jungle Death-World where gigantic man-eating half-animal women dwell, as an attempted to break the "relatively safe and fast" transportation monopoly held by jetbikes created by another contributor.
The conceptualization began with a small aircraft body that used legs instead of wings so that it could navigate the huge forest terrain much like a sprinting chicken.
While it did evolve into a sort-of mecha capable of jungle Le Parkour, it still needed the spindly looking mechanical limbs to give it the appearance of speed and agility.

Now, I wouldn't mind owning a physical model, but yeah, I could accept it being unable to stand under it's own weight.
After all, it's got ARTICULATION!!!

Yeah, the problem is a single Technic beam a working leg does not make.

Eventually, The RIN began to notice that immortal armor was getting tougher and tougher, sometimes even tough enough to resist the tarditional Sabot-and-HE Round barrage of the Brawler tanks. To remedy this, a new option for the tank's main weapon arose: The "Exterminator" Sub-Nuclear plasma launcher. For when you want something gone, and you want it gone fast. Especially if you don't mind the heavily irradiated crater afterwards.


With the new cannon in the elevated position, good for knocking ships out of the sky.
