Golden Lions Stats (Another New Hero)

Post by Bragallot » Fri Jun 10, 2011 12:45 pm

A peaceful day at the Golden Keep, home of the Golden Lions, one of the Kingdom's many feudal factions...

Image

"Dumdedee."

Image

"HRRMFG!"

Image

*violent noises*

Image

Frederick Von B: "Finally I'm rid of those ridiculous clothes! This way, I won't stand out so much."

Bloodguard: "It's him! Stop him!"

"Bugger."

Image

"Greetings. If reports are correct, someone who looked exactly like you has been sighted holding his own against a demon at the Battle of the Portal recently, and the King has asked us to search for this man. Are you not a relative of the legendary Mechmaster Ferras, who helped liberate our lands from the demons in ancient times?"

"Uhh, I'm not sure..."

"If you claim to be a relative of Ferras and pledge your loyalty to the King, you will be given control over these territories."

"Yes, I'm definitely a relative."

"That's settled then."

Image

Thus Frederick Von B became the new leader of the Golden Lions. With his ability to combine magic with technical items and his engineering skills, he was sure to become a valuable asset to the Kingdom. He carries a magical bag of holding that holds many different items. Amongst his standard equipment are...

Image

Mana Shield UR: 3 'DMG': 1d6+1 May parry anything.

Image

Mana Blade UR: 4 DMG: 1d6+2 Cannot be parried (by regular weapons).

Image

Pistol RA: 5" UR: 4 DMG: 1d6+2 Must fire in a straight line. Effective against armour (+1).

Image

Firebomb RA: (Skill) UR: 4 DMG: 1d6+2/2" (he has 3 standard)

Image

Westeron Flamethrower RA: 6" UR: 4 DMG: 2d6/2" Cannot be parried. Must fire in a straight line. (Think Greek firethrower)

Image

Repeating crossbow RA: 10" UR: 3 DMG: 1d6+1 May fire twice (damage doesn't add up).

Image

Grapple chain RA: Chain length UR: 4 DMG: None On success, pulls target towards Von B or Von B towards target.

Image

Spiked chain RA: Chain length UR: 4 DMG: 1d6+3

Image

Why not just run off with his bag of holding while he's busy?

Image

Oh, I see.

Bag of Holding Mo: none Sk: 1d6 Ar: invincible Att: 2d6 UR: 2 Attacks when touched by enemies. Holds a lot of Von B's stuff.

Image

It may also swallow Von B when he's in lethal danger, but in the event of this happening it's likely it will take Von B a long while to find his way back out. (credit to RJ and Zahru for the idea)

But wasn't he supposed to go to Medivo to take Karl's place? Well, here's what happened...

Image

"What the-?"

Image

"Guten Tag."

"The hell you doing here?"

Image

"Ah, Frederick. You know I zent you do desdroy de Warhead. Howeve, dere is also one on dis continent, as you've zeen. You haf do kill dat one now, ja?"

"Hmm, sure."

What happens if you turn the bag of holding inside out?

Nice army! The Lions have always been my favorite medieval kingdom, probably because it's my favorite animal. next to the vikings, they are probably my biggest medieval army.

Cool. I like the idea of the bag, but I'm not sure if it should be invincible. Oh well, everything's awesome anyways. :)

I say, that fellow has stolen an Immortal TechTM Infinity Bag!.. And seems to have cross bread it with Rincewinds Luggage!.. h'mm, a marketable idea.

So, there is another Warhead sphincter?.. This is good news, for me I hope. :D

Great intro! 8)

Image

Not much has changed to the army itself, but I've managed to free up some torsos and expand the halberdier's ranks to 8.

Image

... and here is their new hero, Stanis Barateon and his right hand Melisander: seeress, fire mage and overall badass. (points for reference)

Image

Stanis was previously the admiral of the Royal Fleet. He is known for his severity and perseverance and his greatest quality as a leader is instilling discipline in his men. Even when besieged by barbarians and so starved out they had to live on rats during the conquests of James the Black Stanis still managed to keep his men in tow. His greatest military accomplishment was the utter destruction of the entire fleet of a mysterious sea-people that had come out of nowhere and plagued the Kingdom a decade or so before this day.

Image

His Red Priestess, Melisander, speaks of a great evil to come and has traveled round the Kingdom trying to warn the people, but Stanis is the first who didn't denounce her as anything more than a mad prophet and accepted her into his household (which is understandable when you see his actual wife).

Image

As a token of thanks Melisander has granted him the legendary sword Lightbringer, which gleams with (holy?) light sometimes up to the point it looks completely white or is able to brighten the night sky like a beacon.

Image

Knowing the dangers of his 'cursed' (the previous 2 leaders quickly died after accepting the job) position, Stanis has been smart enough to recruit able knights as guardians.

Image

I love how they fit in with the old crusader figs, given the right equipment and attire. It beats having to create another faction by miles.

So... Bets on how long he will last?
