A new toy for the undead army

Post by Bragallot » Mon Oct 24, 2011 9:01 am

With Garth's quest up and running, I'm obliged to do some building for all sides to keep the fights interesting, so this should be the first in the row of a couple of creations.

The undead needed some punch. I first wanted to build an improved Cart of Wails, but when that didn't work out I made this: the Nightmare Catapult.

Image

It's called that because of the figure head, which looks like an armoured horse beast, and because the ominous green glow surrounding the catapult has suggested it houses the spirit of a Nightmare.

And yes, it does actually fire.

The lances not only ward off enemies charging the front, but also cast a magic defense against ranged attacks. The NM-cata can move independently and pierce people with it's lances or use a short-ranged attack by itself, but firing the catapult requires a fig. I'm happy with how the colours go together and the overall feel: it's a small creation but looks like it can pack a punch. It's also present in my current forum battle.

I like it; it's a sinister twist on the old bull catapult design.

Absolutely love the front, it looks great! I'd like to see something like 3 or 4 of those in a line, that would be quite intimidating...

Unless of course you've got a tank.
Too many bricks, never enough time.
