Building Tips

Postby mercury19 » Tue Mar 04, 2014 7:50 pm

I'd like to make a thread where people can get/give some building tips, because I know I will ask a bunch, and one thread is better than lots.

My first question is: what do you think the best way to build a tree fort/city out of acacia trees is, given that there is no giant form? I've thought about just planting them willy nilly then building on them, but that takes too much space horizontally to get any decent size. and trees are generally vertically large anyway.

Thoughts?

Thanks, m19

You could also gather some wood and make fake trees. They would most likely lack leaves, but you can design the "trees" to have any shape that you want.

First birch is supirior! With that out of the way, you would probably have to custom make it, I see no other way sorry.

If you want a tree fort, jungle trees are the way to go.

You can cut leaves with shears and place them on a new (fake) tree.

Harry: Are you fucking serious?
Remus: Well yes, but I don't see how that applies here.

I think I might try an alternating thing. Ground level is outer ring, second level is clump that fits inside. Third level is a ring around the clump, etc. not the most tree like, but it might work.

If you place a dirt block at the top of a tree you can plant a sapling on it and artificially heighten trees this way, possibly filling in the dirt block with wood once the tree has grown. I think you can make them wider in a similar way as well.
