Possibly, but we'll probably recognize them if they're a member, and a search doesn't pull us up easily.

It's probably not that. I just googled "brikwarrior" and Brikwars doesn't show up until somewhere in the middle of the second page.

Ok, there is now a lava door. The switch for it is behind the crafting bench.

Edit: That switch is like the key under the doormat. Don't use it unless you really have to. The switch on the other side of the lava is usable. Just stand right next to the lava, and aim a little to the left. Keep clicking around until you hear the piston go off.

Thanks to the efforts of Snakemittens, Ex-Lep, Zupperton and Keldoclock, the base is now SIGNIFICANTLY more awesome. Portal, nether room, pimped out apartments, in the case of Zup, a trapped apartment, we've got a shroom farm, tree farm, mine, solid gold cock and balls, everything you could ever want.

Well how do you expect me to live without the ability to utterly destroy your home and possessions at will?

All I would really have to do is replace the piston with some TnT. Or add more pistons and create a massive suffocation trap!

suffocation/drowning/lava corridor is easy.

key:
0 - sticky piston body
= - sticky piston arm
~ - lava/water
X - block
_ - preasure plate

side view:
Code: Select all

XX~~XX
0=XX=0
XX  XX
XX__XX
XXXXXX

the plates cause the pistons to retract dropping lava or water on their head, when they die the pistons will activate and the trap will be ready for the next victim.

a AND gate could be put between the plate and the pistons, the other input linked to a lever inside the fort. when the lever is "on" then the trap will be active, when "off" the trap will be safe allowing us to collect the loot (the items will fall into the area protected by the plates, as liquids don't flow into the same block).

cages can also be made, but only work on mobs.

key:
\ - door
_ plate
top view :
Code: Select all
\
\_\
\

the mob stands on the plate causing the doors to close, again can be combined with a drowning/lava trap using how liquids treat pressure plates as blocks. it's so nice to go out of your house and find a creeper siting helpless in a 1x1 cage.

Someone fucked with our base! There's lava everywhere and all the shinies have been taken!

EDIT: New base has been started. Take nether portal out of old base, follow the torchlit tunnel to an exit where one can get to the new base.

I'm gonna make it pretty freakin awesome. :)

Yes, yes, it's a double post. Sorry about lighting, but both of us were tired.
This is the new base, it isn't quite done yet but is still pretty awesome for 3 hours work.

Somehow, I don't think this place will last past Thursday :cry:

its pretty freakin awesome.

ANYWAY: i took all or almost all useful items from the old base, and put em in chests. i took and hid half of the valuables before the griefing in a chest under a lava lake in the mines, it was untouched. i also covered the tunnel to the second portal wih some netherrack, but just dig through the indent in the wall when you come out.

why not build the new base IN the nether!
hide a portal somewhere, short trek across ghast territory then bam! base!

ration cobble and other materials to vital tasks, use wood for everything else. we can grow trees for materials and farm for food. nobody expects a nether base.

to hide it maybe a portal somewhere then a tunnel to a different portal.BUT the second one is hiding the base, dig to the left and you come out into the open nether and continuing left you will find a cave where the base is.

Notes on the nether;
* ghasts can't destroy most non-flammable blocks.

* pig men provide us with free meat if we make a clever lava trap.

* ghasts form a defense. if we can cage some with pistons then release them when attacked.

* we can grow trees. make charcoal for touches.

* only materials to build with that we can gather in-neather are;
wood
netherrack
grow stone
soul sand
* as such once an area is secure with stone we can build with netherrack and wood, glowstone isn't vital as touches can be used, soul sand is good for defenses.

* ghasts spawn in large spaces, trees need a decent area to grow, build tree farms as short as possible. trees grow in about 5 blocks min, which is too small for ghasts to spawn.

I was trying to find your new base and made it to the nether. Then "End of Stream" error hit me and when I logged in again, I found myself at spawn. Nacked. At night. Now I have to walk all the 1,5 kilometers again. Worst of all: I had diamonds with me! . I hate it. :x
