A couple friends and I were hiking the other day on Mt. Timpanogas (A mountain close to where I live). When we reached the peak a thunderstorm came and we had to get off the ridge before being struck by lightning. The way we escaped: by jumping down a 1,000 ft. glacier.

No, seriously. Recreational drug use in any form- smoking tobacco, alcohol, the illegal drugs that schools are struggling with, using over-the-counter medication to get high- this is stuff that I will never be a part of. Talk all you want to out of your ass about how cool, hip, or mainstream it is, I don't give a shit. I have friends and family who have been or are involved in it, and I don't want to see anyone else screwed up like that. Because it screws you up, and takes you with it.

I haven't been paying attention here (and don't want to read 9 pages) but what strikes me is the difference in culture. In North America we make such a big deal about drugs that they become either this boogeyman to the kids who don't do them, or some attractive to kids who do. In The Netherlands, if it's legal, I wouldn't think people would really care as much.
