the quest begins

this is a test out of an idea i had
its a rpg stile game
loosely like d&d
the game is set up on one or more "maps", more are accessible when found they are 48 by 48 studs with detail built on, a small marker shows where the party is on the map
each stud on the map represents a 32 by 32 stud baseplate on which the characters can interact, they can move one baseplate (one map stud) a turn, there are five turns in one day (morning, midmorning, noon, afternoon, and evening), and three turns at night (twilight/ early night, midnight, and early morning)
anyway, on with the story
a litte bar in the middle of nowhere
(nooooo i missed some of the dog hair in there)
bartender: well look what the path brought in, some new adventures
*the drunk man laughs*
the others don't look up form there conversation
steve walks up to the bar
bartender: what'l it be boy
steve: actualy we don't have money for drinks but could we borrow a map
bill: *grumbles* can't i just have one, i haven't had any ale in days
fred (known as swift): good thing to, last time you had some we were almost killed by the barman, you drank his whole stock
bill: t'was only two barrels
bartender: here you go, you can keep it if you don't buy any drinks
steve: thank you sir, we won't, that settles it bill
bill: *grumble*
alexandria (alex): let me guess, you became an adventure because somebody killed you family and you want revenge
steve: yes a necromancer
alex: i should of known, its to much of a cliché
steve: yes and than the hero marries the fair maiden and lives happily ever after
alex: *thwack* c@#$@##, he's arrogant as well, why is it always me!
mysterious man in corner: i couldn't help but here you said a necromancer
steve: yes
man: was he dressed in black and had a ghost with a white scepter behind him
steve: yes, how did you know?
man: my companions and i are hunting this man as well if you are interested meet us on the path
they exit the building
alex: thank goodness they are gone
bartender: you know you should go as well
alex: fine but i won't like it
bartender: so thats were you kept that
later on the path
steve: welcome, i am glad to have your help but i don't think you have introduced yourselves
man: sorry, i am known by many names, but you may call me tim the ranger, these are my companions goreleaf the elf (he just goes by leaf) and Bergvid the dwarf
steve: i just go by steve, these are my companions william (he goes by bill), and fred he's a chil- err halfling who goes by swift
tim: i see
tim: there is a town nearby, i need to get some health potions before we set off
some skeletons pop out from cover
skeleton leader: halt this is our road
steve: good, this was starting to become boring backstory
the skeletons charge and attack
tim kills his on the counter attack
bergivid does the sam with his
nothing else of importance happens
tim goes to help leaf with the chieftain and bergivid goes to help fred
steve quickly displaces his
bergivid beheads another
bill disposes of his
tim displaces the leader
alex: i thought you might need my - i see you've been busy
steve: so you'll join
alex: against my better judgement
tim: lets go
swift: you forgot the best part, LOOTING
swift is know equipped with iron chain mail (+1 armor)
bill is know equipped with iron helm (+1 armor)
they divide up the weapons among them, none had any gold on them
they proceed to leave
character status
steve: health: 15/15 armor: 5 equipment status: 20/20
bill:health: 15/15 armor: 5 equipment status: 15/15
swift: health: 15/15 armor: 5 equipment status: 10/10, 10/10
tim: health: 25/25 armor: 6 equipment status: 25/25
leaf: health: 25/25 armor: 6+d6 shield equipment status: 20/20, 20/20
bergivid: health: 25/25 armor: 6 equipment status: 20/20
alex: health: 15/15 armor: 4 equipment status: 15/15
i didn't want to put this in forum battles because of all the rpgs going around right now, but if anyone wants to play a character (except steve) i will move it there and npc the others
also if there are any questions about how this works i will be happy to answer
