Walking Castle

Post by CaptainAwesome » Sun Feb 03, 2008 6:23 pm

I've just added arms and legs to my 7093 Skeleton Tower
It looks so cool that it's going to be the theme of my next BrikWars battle.

So what are your thoughts on this? do you think that it's a good idea? Or better yet how much destruction do you think it could cause?

Here's a picture of the set. Hopefully I will have a few pictures of my version up in a bit...

Here's some stats for it:

Armor: 4d10

Move: 5" (it's supposed to be slow)

Attack: Stomp 2d6, fire trap (fire spills out of its mouth) 1d10+2

These stats aren't final yet so if you want to add on be my guest.

this has potential to be incredibly cool. however it's a castle, correct? why not just have archers on top of it, shooting out like on a regular castle?

and by "it's supposed to be slow", is 5" a good measurement? that means a minifig on foot could not catch up to it. i'd drop it to 3" personally.

I did forget to mention that the two towers are occupied by a sniper and a fire mage along with a hero in the center. About the movement, I meant that the castle is supposed to be slow for a structure of that size, and while 3" is a good measurement i'd rather have it a 5" so it can quickly get into the heart of the battle and cause the maximum amount of destruction.

Excellent! A walking castle... possessed by a bloodthirsty demon. (As opposed to a non-bloodthirsty demon? Who came up with that adjective??!?!?)

Lets split the difference and say it can move 4" a round.

Sounds good, I'll make it that.

Have you seen Miyazaki's film "Howl's Moving Castle?"

Ah yes, the good old mobile fortress. Never caught on in real warfare due to terrible impracticalities.

...I'd surround the thing with a bunch of little guncars. That'd be a fun war.

I've only seen a little bit of it, but now that you mention it the ideas are pretty similar

Ah, I remember Howl's Moving Castle. I think a moving castle could be one of the best siege machines, provided you don't mess it up.

Hmm.. this gives me an idea. Imagine a castle that moves over ground so low that looks like it's sliding, but turn it over and there's a bunch of minifig legs that are like little insects swarming over the bottom. And of course, anyone who enters the castle is never heard from again (they have a really nice lounge). But enemies... are fed to the castle beast thing itself, into a gaping maw in the middle of the structure. *sigh* If only I had the bricks and spare legs to do that...

My fantasies aside, it's a cool idea. I can't wait to see some pics.

Yeah I had the same idea at first, but with tank treads. Good idea of the snazzy lounge though

Yeah, it'd be great :D . Except if you were the band though. Instead of getting booed off the stage, you'd be carried off to be used as castle food when you play bad. It'd be kinda like the Mos Eisley Cantina, only classier (and more violent!).
