the Vol took the Stranians cat

Deep in the murky recesses of the Caid sector a Vol battle group had obsconded with the stranians sacred cat, mr. flufykins. pursuing the Vol till they caught them feasting (they never nap). they were about to pounce, following the authoritative demands of the stranians a 45th Union heavy cruiser came upon the scene and battle was joined.

starting places Roc and Tuefishes ships had upgraded health 30 hp each.

next the 45th union moves up the field and deploys fighters

the Hodgepodgian fighters break left and right not wanting to be caught in the fire ball in the middle as SBM's are used to counter the Vol's SBM's, not being as succesful as hoped the kirkolkand destroyed the rest of the SBM's using its main batteries

The Redfell along with the Wolde and flanked by gunboats turned about and moved towards the enemy heavy cruiser flaying its hide with the heavy batteries on each respective ship

flying out of the mamoth fighter bay a shuttle pops out and decides to board the Kirkolkand, its attacks on the kirkokand's lower turrets are otherwise unseccesful.

The Skiff, also races out of the bay intent on boarding the Hodgepodge, while the Drones head off to intercept the main fighter group

the Hodgepodges fighters race in for the kill, while the drop pod burns in attempting to land in the cargo bay, the bomber destroys the skiff, leaving only the officer and the berserker to gain the hodgepodge, while the fighters on the far let pounce on the Vol's fighters

the Vol in reprisal fire oft thier starboard side missile package sending almost all of the stranian fighters to the black void

inside the kirkolkand the Vol realised they needed to spend more time on the firing range as old grumpy stands up under thier barrage or slugs and grenades

the 45th union finding out that the cat wasnt there decided to get out while they still could fired up the warp engines and jumped out, while the stranian ships had to recover men before swinging in pursuit of the Vol, to make shure they went the Superfrigate Redfel also warped out.

meanwhile inside the [] the officers pop out of thier boarding pods bent on destruction,

one of the officers makes it to the engine core flaming it and making it explode!!!, with such force that fires lick out of the hull in both directions incinerating all within while leaving just a gutted hulk in space

the other to assasins and officer kill Vol troops as the other officer dashes to the power core

things learned im going to have to rework the HP rules for the ships. Also engine cores should be contained in in a fully armored room heavily garuded and not easily reached by boarding pod. SBM combat works exactly how its supposed to which is a plus. and we really need to CP the ships for even battles. also the Vol weapons need to be upgraded in damage.

unfortunately i didnt get a size lineup on all the ships, which will show how large some of these ships are.

it has been determined that somewere one of the Hodgepodgina ships is carying a luck generator, as that seems to be what is shielding them from otherwise hazordous actions to them from thier enemy, either that or its something they mine its not yet been determined

well if i grow the hodgepodge another 2 feet it will be almost as long as i am tall also my gunboats can fit quite cozly inside the Vol landing bay, and i can even fly the Scrag class through the 45th unions lower hatches (where the Apc's go)

That sounds exactly like the Imperial/Space Marine forces that a friend of mine fielded when we used to play Epic Spacemarines. It can be really frustrating if one player consistently has lucky dicerolls every time you play.
