Those Jerks vs. Legavan Escort

Postby trebnos1 » Mon Mar 29, 2010 12:44 pm

Okay, so this was my second serious BrikWar, and it came out a lot better than the first (both in terms of enjoyment and uploading; photobucket is so much better than 4shared...). Let me know what you think!

After a devastating war, the Legavan Empire has just about collapsed. With its cities consumed in fighting, its lands made uninhabitable by nuclear pollution, and its government in the final stages of collapse, bandits scour the land unhindered, pillaging and slaughtering. A small band of Legavan elite troops escorts the mighty Apokalypse Krawler to the Legavan capital of Thanatos, in a desperate bid to consolidate the remains of the once-mighty Legavan army. Their journey is hindered, however, by a clan of savages known only as "Those Jerks," accompanied by the massive radioactive mutant called S'Lark, whom Those Jerks revere as their God. The resulting clash will be bloody...

Image
The two sides square off, Legavans on the right, Those Jerks on the left. The Legavan escort faces a disadvantage of numbers, but are far superior to the enemy in terms of Teknology and organization.

Image
Those Jerks have come prepared, with two combat jeeps, a Self-Propelled Artillery vehicle, the terrifying S'Lark, a mercenary ninja, a squad of M-16 toting soldiers, and an Attack Krawler (not shown).

Image
The Legavan escort is well prepared to meet the Jerk threat. The Apokalypse Krawler dominates the scene, surrounded by a defensive perimeter of light walkers and infantry.

Image
In addition, the Krawler is transporting four deactivated Kombat Bots, ready to deploy if and when they are needed.

Image
The first of the Legavan walkers move up and open fire on one of the jeeps.

Image
The jeep is disabled, but there are no flesh casualties just yet. Of course, that guy in the back should be careful with his dynamite.

Image
The Apokalypse Krawler opens up with its forward defense cannons, but fails to score a hit.

Image
The Jerks' turn. The Krawler moves up and opens fire, only to miss pathetically.

Image
S'Lark moves up for a shot...

Image
...and manages to hit a Legavan captain with his adherence charge...

Image
...which promptly blows the entire squad to kingdom come, save for a single trooper who barely manages to survive (you can see him by the walker leg).

Image
The SPA opens up on the Legavan forces.

Image
The artillery round obliterates a light walker, but not before the passenger manages to bail out.

Image
A squad of Jerks is decimated in a shot from a Legavan walker. Their Krawler is also crippled (not shown).

Image
Eager flames lick the dynamite carelessly thrown in the rear of the doomed Krawler...

Image
Boom

Image
Moving up, the Legavan hero blows one Jerk's head off, and shoots another clean off of the jeep.

Image
Even as this walker's pilot is killed by retaliatory fire from the second jeep, the gunner fires a rocket...

Image
...decimating the offender.

Image
The SPA takes another shot, aiming for the Apokalypse Krawler.

Image
The damage is largely superficial.

Image
Disgusted by the incompetence of his followers, S'Lark takes matters into his own hands, smashing another walker.

Image
The ninja finishes off a trooper that managed to bail out of the walker before it was crushed.

Image
The Legavan hero, Cap'n Tex, guns down another Jerk as the crippled jeep's inhabitants open up in retaliation...

Image
Only to die under the weight of the Jerks' combined fire.

Image
S'Lark plunges his blade through the Apokalypse Krawler's windshield, bringing the monolithic machine grinding to a halt. Note the pathetically ineffectual Kombat Bot; he was stomped moments after being deployed, though he managed to survive...barely.

Image
The gunner from the Legavan walker strikes again, firing a second missile and destroying the Jerks' SPA.

Image
The SPA is burning.

Image
S'Lark begins to systematically disassemble the Apokalypse Krawler with his energy sword, knocking off a turret and smashing one of the Kombat Bots before it has a chance to deploy.

Image
The two remaining Kombat Bots deploy and move up as the Krawler's rear turret opens fire on S'Lark.

Image
Success! The godlike mutant loses his shield arm.

Image
Meanwhile, the one remaining Legavan trooper guns down the Ninja and rallies two of the Kombat Bots.

Image
The photography isn't too good, but this just looks kinda cool...

Image
The squad fails to penetrate S'Lark's armor, and they die pathetically.

Image
On the other side of the crippled Apokalypse Krawler, the gunner of this walker has finally been killed, but a Kombat Bot avenges the death with a well-aimed shot at a Jerk officer.

Image
S'Lark has disabled the rear turret.

Image
And a Jerk finishes off the last Kombat Bot.

Image
A costly victory for Those Jerks.

Post-carnage notes:
I think this war went really well. The forces were fairly small, and thus easy to manage. I was really surprised that the Jerks won, I was expecting the Apokalypse Krawler to do a lot more damage than it did.

Thanks!
Oops, I hadn't noticed the discrepancy. I'll try to clean that up. I've made stat cards for battle bots and completely forgot I was using a different model of murderous machine :S

Oh, just a quick note on Those Jerks. The minifigs I used for that faction aren't Mega Blok or Lego, they're from another building block company called Oxford (as well as that jeep and all of the dark green bricks). Not sure if anyone's heard of them, I only saw their sets in Korea, but they've got some great stuff. They're cheap, and better quality than Mega Blok (though I don't really care for their minifigs... cool accessories though).

Yup, M-16s, sniper rifles, pistols, and a pretty cool automatic assault rifle that I've seen so far. They also made some other accessories, like a screwdriver, a medcase/suitcase, giant pliers (for which I am still attempting to devise a use), and more.

Ahahaha

There's your use. I suppose that the fire is Oxford as well?

Lol, I'll have to look that one up...
The fire is actually Mega Blok. Most of it is from those Dragon sets they were making. I just use it because we have more of that kind than Lego.
