In fact, the Trattorian Realtors Association and some engineering firms would like to break ground and begin construction of a luxury space resort enclosed by that nice truncated icosahedron.

It sounds like the Trattorian's are considering, building a resort inside a living being? That would suggest they have no care for life outside their own.
Making them an enemy to the grand armies of light.
Maybe the Map Maker should visit the Trattorian home world and alter their views on life.

I would think from their point of view it would be a form of symbiosis with added revenue.

But thats just my guess.

This would be more of a parasitic symbiosis with no benefit to the host.
One life form using another for it's own purposes while not helping or hindering the host.
The Map Maker has seen the rise and fall of countless civilizations, has witnessed the destruction of an universe sized war, who's age is measured in universal rotations and you think a hotel inside him is good?

Technically a symbiotic relationship where one partner benefits and the other isn't affected positively or negatively is commensalism. Parasitism implies harm on the other partner.

"Historic site with unique architecture and excellent open view of space" (aka double the nightly rate)

Firstly yes i agree as viewed from a Map Maker - resort stand point. But resorts aren't to be art to only be viewed. It brings along other organisms and their necessities, food, air, waste disposal and goods.
Now, resorts are a stationary place with a fixed address where they can easily be found. Map Maker goes where he pleases. Thus making it more a luxury cruise, even then it has a known path of travel.
A to B or C to D, any how a finite set of paths known to those who operate and travel. The Map Maker goes from A to ???, there is no known end to his path and the path itself isn't even known.
Now the Parasitic nature comes from trying to make this luxury cruise workable. First making a set path to follow and sticking to it, leaving the "where shall i go next" out of it. So that transportation to
and from can be arranged in the future. Also that as he progresses those routes will be come extended to beyond capacity and so expensive to maintain that too few can afford rooms, making him turn
around and go back to what has already been seen. The freedom to explore something of into the distance or keeping to a timetable. The only way of not going insane for a being this old is to see and
experience something new, to keep moving forward. Inconvenient to a business
So Happy host = failed business or host driven insane = short successful business

Historic Site-Agreed
Unique architecture-Agreed
Excellent open view of space-More of an OK view

The important thing is, how many water slides can we fit in it, and will we get duty free status for the bars?

Hmm, that'll never do, we'll get strarbucks to run the bars, they sell alcohol and pay fuck all taxes anyway. The water slide issue may be a much bigger problem, however that planet made entirely out of anti-acid tablet may work.

Good luck convincing strarbucks to run the bars and how would you get that anti-acid planet anywhere near the Map Maker, whom is capable of destroying planets easily?
