Yeah, but you didn't change the infantry weapons and the vehicle weapons listings have some range issues. We really need an infantry portable LMG/HMG(whatever). Your machinegun stats are pretty much for SMGs only, even size 2 guns have a range of 8.

the new weapon rule are great but we do need man-portable MGs and Sniper Rifles at the least. Maybe a better portable Anti-Armour weapon.

The LMG/HMGs are covered by Heavies and Turrets at the bottom of the chapter; normal minifigs can't fire stuff like that without some setup.

I'm happy with the machinegun range, it's the regular guns I'm thinking about revisiting - it's not right that their effective range is only ever one inch greater than a machinegun of similar size. I'm thinking of changing them from 3WS+3" to 4WS+2" instead.

This is something I've been thinking about over the last week - if you break down the minifig weapons into their vehicle equivalents, it looks roughly like this:
  • Hand Weapon = WS1" Melee
    Heavy Weapon = WS1.5" Melee
    Two-Handed Weapon = WS2" Melee

    Short-Ranged Weapon = WS1" Gun
    Long-Ranged Weapon = WS1.5" Gun
I need to find some way to fit in WS1.5" equivalents for the BlastGun, MachineGun, and Launcher. Right now minifigs are limited to just the WS1" pistol-equivalent versions, which isn't right. It'll probably mean the addition of another table or new subsection under Weapon Size Limits.

That still doesn't increase the range of the weapon. Even at size 2, a machine gun's max range is less than a charging minifig with a pike. These incredibly short ranges make ranged weapons nearly useless.
The size 2 machine gun still has the use problem, if you want to fire full auto, you're looking at minimum use 5.

Hello, Gents!

Post by MagnesiumFlint » Tue May 17, 2011 4:49 pm

Would there be any room in this agenda for another person? Namely me? I've never played brikwars with anyone but my siblings, but I've tried various RPGs before.

So, just a heads-up:
Been playing with LEGO all my life :D
I only have one faction so far, and It's not
official or anything. (Billy's Blood Burgers! Meat made
By the people, For the people, From the people!) .
I'm 13 years old and live in the Etobicoke area.
Brickthuluist. (DIE FLESHIES.)
No official flag or symbol or anything.
Might be a rules lawyer sometimes, bring your Hammers of Discipline.
Might also come off as a bit childish sometimes.

So that's about it for me.

Some items I have:

4 32x32 green plates
2 16x16 sandy plates
1 16x16 light green plate
3 8x16 dark grey plates
1 48x48 light grey plates
And some other base plates hard to describe. I'll post pics.

Minifigs and bricks... Lots of them...

So, yeah. I'd really like to join your group of brikwarriors here if you'll let me. :D

This is a scurrilous lie. Minifigs with pikes only move 5", they can't Sprint.

8" is just the "effective" range - that's why there are Out of Range rules. And hopefully your machine gun is manned by a Gunner, which makes Use:5 a 50% chance to hit for every minifig-sized target within the field of fire. I'm still not seeing a problem here.

That sounds good. This way, it might even be possible to have two one-on-one games going at the same time if we have time after the big game. I'm also very jealous of how close you live to the new Lego store.

As for my army, I'll probably settle for being the civilians, since I don't have very many similar minifigs. This could make for a good objective match, since we could have defenders of a little town trying to fight off the invasion. I'll make some nice regular cars for vehicles, which I prefer over making military vehicles anyway. What do you guys think?

Seems like Natalya and I can fight over the town and you can repel the invasion. It could even be a siege scenario. You could use my EnCor guys as hired mercenaries to defend the town.

Exactly the kind of scenario I was going for. As for the troops, I do have some military-type minifigs, so I'll see what kind of support they can offer, and how many civilians I have in total. I appreciate the offer, we'll see what kind of force I can muster up.

Aoffan, I visited the LEGO store in Sherway Mall once this weekend. Bought a few minifigs. Damn expensive though.

And it's not really that close when you have to take the TTC for an hour to get there. XD

But it is pretty friggin' epic. (Pick a Brick=AWESOME)

Around what parts do you hail from? Scarborough? GTA? Mississauga?

While I'm on the subject of location...
Does anyone have a place they know we could set up?
At Woodbine mall there's a store called "A Toy Chest". It's a
game shop for DnD and Warhammer. They have a WH battle
every Sunday, though. I could pop by to see if anything can be
arranged if we have no determined location.
