After getting distracted from studying by Enemy At The Gates on TV, I got to thinking: Do you have the means to make a dock, a decent stretch of river to cross (With baseplates or a tarp or something) and a flotilla of small boats?
A Stalingrad-esque scenario would be cool. one force is invading on one side of the river, while the other receives reinforcements across the river,

I'm not exactly sure what you mean.
Anyways, I went to the store today, and Sunday August 7th is open. It also turns out that I'm heading up to my cottage the two weeks after that, so there's no problem. Looks like we finally have a set date.

That's fantastic about the date!
What I mean about the scenario is:
One side of a river is controlled by the defenders, along with the very edge of the other side. The attackers control the side with few defenders. The defenders have to land their troops on the other side of the river with small boats and craft. The attackers must do somewhat the same, but they're more about pushing the defenders from their bank.

I kind of like the idea. The I'm picturing it is that the river is pretty much the border of the town, so most of the buildings are on the defending side. There's a drawbridge across, but it's controlled from the defending side. This means that if defenders want to bring it down to move out, they run the risk of letting the attackers in.
I like it, but if the bridge was really important, only the attackers should have boats. That way, it puts more pressure on the defenders to make the decision.

I've decided that there's going to be a zoo with:

a bunch of birds, snakes, scorpions, and other small critters.
Why? Maximum mayhem, that's why. I'm also going to start up a topic to show what I'm bringing, maybe you should both do the same (just to get an idea of what we're facing).
