Alright, I've seen mention of this several times now, but how do you use "finger cones".

Is it a simple matter of splaying your fingers out in a fan from the firing point of origin?

yes. it's a term we developed on the frappr to talk about automatic fire, and it migrated here.

instead of measuring things in degrees, which requires a protractor and/or thinking, we just spread our fingers for a rough estimate. if an attack hits everything in a 4 finger cone, spread four fingers on one hand (not your thumb!) apart, and start from the origin. everything in that cone takes whatever effect is caused.

not so much a "finger cone" as it is a "finger angle", really.

Nice.
Effective, yet simple... the essence of Brik Wars.
Thanks for the clarification, guys.

And, yeah... I'm down with the "conal" concept from D&D spells.
LOL
