Custom Battlefields

I wanted to start another thread for sharing battlefield ideas. This would also be a good place to post pictures of a battlefield before it's finished and ask for suggestions, or brag about battlefields you've already made but haven't used yet.
To kick the thread off, I'll post a picture I took of a battlefield I'm building right now. The base is high density insulating foam and cardboard, and I'm currently in the painting phase. However, while using huge kitchen knives and a saw to cut the foam, I sliced my hand pretty badly.
My first thought might have been "It would be wise to seek medical attention", but in true BrikWarrior fashion, I decided to write my name in blood across the top first. I firmly believe that this will bring good luck to my troops in battle.
Sorry for the poor lighting, due to all the dust and debris my workshop was confined to the basement.

Looks like it will be cool once painted. Also where do you get that kind of stuff?

Home Depot
I used only one $15 piece (2" thick) for this entire battlefield and everything in that bag. Once carved, I covered it in a layer of
lightweight hydrocal that I bought for $10 from a local hobby shop. I'm painting it now, and then I'll cover it in sand and various details before adding LEGO baseplates and eventually LEGO elements.

thats a tiny amount of blood that will never bring even a sunny day!
take a live chicken and chop its head off and squeeze all the blood out off it.

Yeah, I didn't think of writing with it until I had already wiped some up with a paper towel. Next time I'll be sure to sacrifice a small animal, though.

sacrificing is always important
wonder how the blood in the ground will play out if one of the players bring gods into the game....

that happy little pink thing on the left is actually a God. There will be a way to summon it to kill opposing minifigs during the battle.

That's a really BrikWars-ey battlefield.

that's very nice. and it looks like it'd be useful in practically any 28mm game as well.

How small?
We ave a few too many muskrats in our lake. They've been eating all of our bait recently.

larger animals like hippos and cows are better but smaller animals like chickens or cults would be fine and if your really pushed then just catch a rat or mouse.

Warhammer brought down firmly on the top of the skull is my preferred method of human sacrifice. As for animals... RPG from 30 paces.
