Halo can be fun and also have an enjoyable, in-depth story, and provide many a night of fun, if it is used properly. However, there are people who just do this.

Halo: Fun for a while, okay-mediocre story, fun multiplayer (Forge is awesome)

Metal Gear: AMAZING story, fun gameplay, Snake is a BAMF above all BAMFs

Half-Life 2: 100% OF EVERYTHING EXCEPT SUCK.

Metal gear is often better, but MGS2 had a plot so over the top it melted my facehead.

Actually, holy shit was it hard and fairly pointless. But every time you talk about Halo, the Chaos God of Halo gets a little stronger and a new game gets released.

yeah faust, but since bunige quit and 343 stepped in halo might become the WORST game...

343 industries is the replacement producers for halo...so far they have only made halo legends and it sucked, big time, it effed up the story SO bad that I (like almost all other halo fans) don't even say its real halo fiction

and from what I heard about MGS, i don't think ill like it, sounds like an anime with action. and way over dramatic. clones of main character, overly dramatic dialogue, ETC....not saying its bad but not for me

and halo, whether you like it or not, IS one of the greatest games EVER made...and thats not fanboy talk, thats old news.

Setting the record straight. I have played a lot of Halo in my life and these are the facts I know:

It's really fun most of the time.
The story is excellent in the first one
People get really obsessed with it.
I will conceed that The first one was one of the best games ever. The rest are fun, but not truly great on their own. Halo 3 is more fun than the original, but the original is the original.

METAL GEAR:
not the most fun game ever for gameplay
Has a relevant story (Anti-nukes)
has an excellent story (MGS2 is iffy)
Has character development and the characters are deep to begin with.
Has excellent voice acting (David Hayter)

I'm not a Halo hater, I have Halo 1 and I was a major halo fan for a while. it's just not my scene anymore.
