both the united states and the soviet union experimented with nuclear infantry weapons. the canons were the most effective but even they were incapable of firing over a long enough distance. basically if you want a cheap way to fire a nuke safely use a crop duster.

as well the germans experimented in all sorts of impractical weapons. of course some of these lead to breackthroughs like the first cruise missiles (v1 and v2) and the first succesful jet powered warplane (meschershmit ME262) and all sorts of cool stuff like mini subs and rocket launchers. as well as a canon so big it had to be assembled on a railroad track! (railroad guns like anzio anne)

they also made the BEST tanks like the tiger and the panther.

for future refrence the americans had a bad tank the sherman. it was bad cause the front gun was crap and the armour was useless against tanks (in all fairness britain's tanks sucked even more however they were the ones who managed to put a decent gun in the sherman.)

the only reason why the sherman was a GOOD tank is cause it used car parts (easy to repair and drive) it was cheap and easilly mass produced.

the sherman was always outclassed though.

the war was not won at d-day by the way. it was won at stalingrad (3 million germans died on that battle in the eastern front.

Also, the tiger was way too big and it's engines broke down ALL THE TIME. Germans often joked that more tigers were lost to empty gas tanks than enemy fire, and they just might be right. I personally give the award as a tie between the Panther and the Panzer IV, since they were far more reliable and effective.

Also, sure the sherman firefly (the british sherman variant) had a nicer AT gun, but the sherman was one of the better tanks of the war. Not only were they easy to fix and drive, but they were fast like all hell. Also, for every one tiger they had, we had something like twelve shermans. Hell, even the front armor wasn't that bad. It's that rear and side armor on the sherman that was absolutely terrible (they were designed to do a 1940s version of the cavalry charge, so most of the armor on these bad boys was on the front end).

um...why are we talking about tanks when we should be talking about the corner-shot gun. btw, nice gun silent sig-fig! also, i saw that show too, and you can put more than pistils on it. i saw them put on an M-16 and an M-203 grenade launcher.

I made a weapon a while ago with a cable capable of inflicting electric charges on enemies with a microcamera attached; along with the gun, a small screen with a live feed from the camera installed at the end of the cable. It looks really fine. And it isn't big.
