i was actually just being sarcastic. the only reason i smoke is because i want to smoke, because it's relaxing as hell and helps me think of things from a different perspective.
i made the medical reference purely as a joke, so, you know, i wouldn't have the feds all up in muh grill.
i think it's pretty ridiculous that pot is illegal, while alcohol and tobacco are both perfectly acceptable in the US.

no. if you haven't tried it, don't judge those who enjoy it on occasion.
it helps me find a lot of peace, personally, and think about things as a whole, rather than honing in on fine details and the drama of life. i don't want to turn it into a huge habit though, as i do enjoy living my life fairly lucidly, which is why i only smoke on occasion. i know too many people who "can't have fun" without it, and i never want to become one of them, which is why it's nice that pot is not an addictive substance (chemically speaking).
and sure, it does make you laugh at the stupidest things and make really retarded statements, but when you're high, you don't really give a fuck.

I think everyone should learn how to do this sober and aware. No offense to you guys, but it's a nice feeling to know that you can relax and be calm and contemplative without resorting to anything else. You're relaxing because of the pot, not using the pot because you're relaxing. It's the same deal with cigarettes; people say they smoke cigarettes to relax. I don't know why you would need anything besides just some free time to relax.

i really don't understand why there's even an argument about this.
if you like it, then good, and if you don't, then good too.
people who smoke and people who don't have been coexisting peacefully so far for at least seventeen years, as far as historians and scientists can tell, but probably even longer than that.

and people do many things to relax, chemical or not: fishing, reading vegging with tv or video games, writing, creating art, etc. Relaxing while doing absolutely nothing would be incredibly dull. no one needs anything to relax, but different people certainly find different activities much more conducive to their own personal style of relaxation.

I don't see why you have to assume anyone's arguing. You're speaking your opinion and I'm speaking mine. I'm not saying you're wrong in any way.

Also, if you read my statement again I said I believe that people should learn to do things while relaxing, instead of relaxing because of the things they're doing. There's a difference. Do whatever the hell you want, I'm just saying why I don't do it myself.

Why does everyone automatically assume that everyone else is out to get them? Is THAT a side effect of pot? Go smoke some if it'll calm your nerves a bit.

I agree with you. Pot seems, to me, just be an easier route to the same solution, though it is illegal and , allegedly, detrimental to the health of the user.
