Depends on variables. Variable Z is what's in the cup, Variable X is if you are filling it or drinking it, and Variable Y is if the cup isn't yours-

Im on the "this drink belongs to everyone" but they have to pay their share!

The question should be "when is a glass half full", most glasses have sloped sides meaning that the bottom half of the glass' height has less area than the top half of it's height.
And that table would make a cool T-shirt.
