Urgh, it's too late for a witty reply. I have no idea what I'm talking about since I didn't recognize anything my 5 seconds of research brought to my eyes. Seemed mostly old pop and besides being horrible at names all my music knowledge centers around rock and metal... generally just guys with way too long hair.

Alright I'll help out a bit more, still same song though:
2nd hint: cello, very dark song from a very dark album from 1995. The band brought out their last album last year and did a pretty intensive tour, especially in october when they were doing their UK tour. Base player is known as 'the evil priest' and they like to make jazz hands during gigs. The band is celebrating their 20th year anniversary this year.
I know not all of this information is equally relevant but hey. As a fan you gotta know the irrelevant stuff.
