My Legos are covered in rat poop

I tried to clean off my rat poo collection with kerosene as mentioned on RatPooEnthusiast.com. But it seemed to partially dissolve the pellets.

Now I fear they are worthless. So I'm planning on taking a tax deduction as a long term capital loss on Form 1040 schedule D ( http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f1040sd.pdf )
