Normally I wouldn't mess about posting this kind of stuff but as far as I know this Indiscriminate sonic weapon hasn't reached the US so you might want to know.

The Mosquito was developed by a swiss N00B who really hated young people, so he made a sound that only under 25's can hear, he then made it ultra annoying and packaged it as a machine which he could sell to shops and other places where loitering takes place. If your under 25 you can hear this, while very few people above 25 can and it gets worse by age.

The Idiot didn't realise we could set this as a ringtone for in school or college

I hear it and it is quite obnoxious... There is another video linked where i do not hear the supposed tone. However you cannot be sure how these videos were made. There is no way to tell if the tones are really played at the claimed frequencies.
Last time it was tested my hearing was excellent but that was like 16 or so years ago? I'd like to do a professional test again. Hm, i bet the the ethologists at our institute have the right equipment.

With my speaker volume set to a normal level I can't hear it.
When I turn up the volume I can hear it.

Oddly I can't hear the 17.4 'Magic zone'. Appollyon, look for websites that provide free mosquito ringtones as you can try various frequencies out.

Argh, this thing is so fucking annoying. I've been listening to this shit since I was in the 5th grade. Elementary for you americans. Any idiot at this crap in their cells, the best part was when one of our teachers actually heard it and one of my classmates was busted.

Its true, I can hear both (Im 16), but then I called my dad and he can't hear the second one.
