Another Bit Of Japanese Awesomeness

Postby dilanski » Wed Aug 18, 2010 5:10 pm

One of the best Japanese Anime shows ever is Starblazers (Spacer Battleship Yamato) It had action, starships, Pre-Apocalypse and a loose sense of what it's teaching kids, best of all is that this year a live action re-boot film will be launched :D.

No news about an English Version, but there probably will be, if not I don't mind sitting through subtitles. This is one of the trailers, they're a few better quality ones. The film looks like it'll have a focus more on the pre-apocalypse Earth.

Gas masks and spaceships, what could be better?

On a side note, Stubby needs to add a 'Media' sub-forum in scuttlebutt, for movies and comics etc.

Ok, now that is interesting. I wonder how close they will follow the anime?

Battle Of Saturn I'll admit it sounds a lot better in Japanese ,but thats dubbing for you.

Speaking of weeaboo stuff, there are rumors about doing a live-action movie from Bubblegum Crisis 2032. I think you guys would dig it: it has a bit of iron manishness, cyberpunk, a very '80-s feel, motorcycles that transfom to exo-suits.... oh and chicks!

Ranma 1/2 is hilarious. Watch it or read it.

I'll check the starship thingy out.

Hey Gunny, I think we just confirmed your myth.

[Ranma 1/2 is about a boy that turns into a chick when splashed with cold water.]

How old is this anime.
I like to look my enemy in the face through a high powered sniper rifle 2 miles away

The original Japanese Space Battleship Yamato came out in 1974.

Ranma was a manga first in 1987 or so. Not a real fan so I am unsure the exact dates.
