Horrific Ambush!

So, I was digging through my Legos after re-discovering this site, and I fish out a barrel. Inside, there's like a cotton ball or a piece with a peeled sticker. Or it could have been a spider nest... which it was. I freaked the hell out first, then took a bit of fire to it only to discover it was empty... God knows how long ago that shit was spun and the little servants of Satan escaped.

...so yeah, figured I'd share.

I had this once. The egg's remains felt quite rubberish.

I tried to cave in the nest web stuff with a q-tip... and it was incredibly sturdy (and made this unsettling crinkling noise). I was surprised when the lightest touch of flame evoporated it like nothing.

I picked up a CD case, one of those multi-CD carrier deals, and a GIANT FUCKING WOLF SPIDER ran across my hand. I swear it had fangs the size of toothpicks. No joke. So I threw the CD case down the hall, and when he ran towards me, I stomped him into a pile of yellow goo with my motorcycle boots. I don't really hate wolf spiders, but when he ran across my hand, shit got personal.

This also reminds me of a "situation" I was once had this years summer. Living in Portugal, its quite normal to have above average temperatures due African winds that travel from south to north. Despite the +7/8 ºC bonus (with 30/40 ºC all day long) these winds carry african bugs, more precisely freakin huge mutant cockroaches.

I fell while longboardin on the sidewalk cause I stepped one of these buggers

I aint afraid of bugs, but when they are THIS big, I kinda creep out

After killing said spider did you then proceed to eat it?
Roasted spider is extremely tasty, but my favorite is deep fried scorpion so tasty.
Also this is no joke I have actually eaten spiders and scorpions but I would not recommend millipedes way too salty.

I seriously wouldn't mind trying that out. Always was curious about how insects taste

I'll be honest: I've never been curious about that. Not even after watching that movie where that kid's plane crashes in Alaska and he's gotta eat grubs to survive. Nope.
