Star Wars action figures

Postby OneEye589 » Thu Jul 14, 2011 10:21 pm

So Star Wars is awesome. When I was a kid and the special re-release of the original trilogy came out, I snatched up a bunch of the figures that were released along with it. Today a friend and I were out and about and we found a comic shop that had just about every one of those figures from 1997 mint and in box.

Of course we bought some with whatever cash we had on hand. I always prided myself, even as a kid, on having the less commonly known or less popular characters, like Grand Moff Tarkin, Dengar, Snoot, etc.

I got Ponda Baba and Admiral Ackbar today, my friend got Luke on a speeder bike and IG-88. Probably will go back and get others later. They had Porkins, Bossk, the rancor keeper, everything. They also had some other cool figures, like some He-Man and Thundercats, Star Trek, Dr. Who.

I guessed a lot of you had some Star Wars figures, or at least some other movie/TV show figures.

Anybody seen the Comic con exclusive yet? It's a FOURTEEN figure-pack in a carrier case shaped like the Death Star.

I grew up in a room with a whole wall covered with a complete set of those star wars figures. And with action fleet star wars ships hanging from the roof.

I sold my collection of starwars figures. I had the original ones that came out when there was only three movies.

Made so much money the sale financed three WH40k armies plus paint and some extras.

When i was a wee lad and had not watched any Star Wars movies yet they were selling the action figures in bargain bins. I remember that i was fascinated by the Stormtroopers, unfortunately i never got any.
Much later i got a bunch of figures as a gift from someone older but i was too old to play with them and the novelty of just having them quickly wore off. Then i gave them away, to my cousin i think.

I practically grew up with star wars. I got my first figures after winning them in a contest when I was in preschool, it was a stormtrooper and Darth Vader. I had no idea who they were, I just saw them in the toy chest and thought they looked cool. I was hooked on Star Wars ever since.

My dad introduced me to Star Wars when I was very little. I started collecting the action figures when the prequels came out and sorta stopped when they started doing the TV show. I get a figure once in a blue moon, however.
