Army ideas for Harry Potter BrikWar

As you might know I've been invited to show BrikWars at the Harry Potter Experience con. It's in May, but since most of my bricks are at home, I'm going to prepare the armies while I'm there over the holidays.

The con people will provide armies of good and evil wizards and witches, and I'll bring the rest. My ideas so far are Centaurs and Muggle elite soldiers.

So, what are your ideas for some good Harry Potter-themed BrikWars armies?

Well, you could have a force of Death Eaters/Good wizards, each carrying a wand that can move certain objects around as well as shoot "spell blasts", essentially making the wand a standard medium-sized gun.

Angry Twilight fans out to lynch J.K Rowling because they think she ripped of Stephenie Meyer. Then an army of bodyguards for Rowling. Add sparklepire hunters for spice, ET voila!

There's not that many big battles in the HP series. Here's a couple that come to mind...

Perhaps a scenario around the main gate of Hogwarts? Evil dudes at the main gate have to break in and take it over. Good dudes need to defend the entrance. For scenery you could do the entrance, a little bit of the inside of the castle, and maybe the bridge out front.

But you wouldn't need the whole thing.... just the front entrance area.

Then add to it a front gate and some more areas to actually fight.



Another thought is a scenario from when the Death Eaters attacked the campsite for the quidditch world cup game. Basically setup a camping ground. Death Eaters roll in to kill everyone. Good guys fight off the Death Eaters. There are quite a few different Lego canvas tents out there you can use. Scenery would be easier than building Hogwarts entrance.

Yeah, scenery is going to play an important bit of the action, as well as the diversity of spells the players will be able to cast. You could go for a old lore-style confrontation between members of the Order and the Death Eaters when both groups were at their peak in a London outskirts subdivision or something...

But seriously, if they're supplying armies, just focus on making awesome destroyable scenery. Make some cool arches and columns, maybe a couple crumbling staircases to nowhere or some statues, and drop it all on the table in cool places once you get there. Good, crumbly things that will fall apart from missed shots should work nicely.

I also agree that if they are providing the bulk of the armies that you should focus more on the battlefield.
